VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
I got in my car last night and out of nowhere, the VSC, Trac Off, and Engine Check Light are ALL on! I took it to the dealership, they said it's gonna take 45 min and $50 to diagnose the problem...I had just taken it in on Saturday for maintenance check and oil change!
Any help is appreciated!

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
couple things...check your gas cap...is it tight and on straight?...I know that sounds crazy but thats what caused all of those lights to come on the first time I gassed up my box and didn't put the cap back on straight because I was in a hurry...dealership didn't charge me to check it though. If that hasn't fixed it have you done any mods?

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
The dealership guy said it might be the emissions, I will check my gas cap. I haven't done any type of mods to my xB...
Is it cheaper & just as good to take my car to Auto Zone? I'm in college still...so any savings is awesome...

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
Quick help here:
Option #1
Go to Autozone/advance autoparts
put a deposit down on a OBD 2 scanner
use the scanner to find out the code # of the CEL (check engine light)
Report back here.
Option #2
Find a friend with something like a ScanGauge II, DashHawk, or a OBD 2 scanner
get the code # and report back here.
Option #3
Local TRUSTED shop
Option #4
Dealer
If I remember correctly all the new Toyota's will throws all the lights on when the CEL light comes on. Most GEN 1 owners who got the problem without doing any mods had issues with the Crank sensor. I would recommend the dealer for that fix, partially because if the car is under warranty they will take care of it.
Sometimes when a maintenance check is done someone doesn' plug something back in all the way and the plug falls out, the rest you already know.
Getting the code # of ECU (Engine control Unit) will help identify the problem. The number will consist of a letter at the beginning and a four numbers after wards. example. P0300 = random multiple misfire. Usually indicating a tune up is needed but further investigation might lead to a bad coil pack, a bad seal allowing too much oil to get into the combustion chamber wetting the spark plug causing the misfire, a worn or bad wire, possibly even a defective ECU. However before you do anything. . .
Check the gas cap. 4 out of 10 on all the cars I do CEL checks for usually throw a Evaporative emissions problem code like "insufficient Evap. vacuum detected" which basically is saying, " hey you left the gas cap off" Tighten the gas cap then "clear" the code using the OBD 2 scanner or resetting the ECU by pulling the ECU fuse in the Engine compartment, or pull the power to the car at the battery.
Drive and see what happens. Let us know how it all comes out! Good Luck!

Get it checked! There are a few simple things that have been suggested that may cause your issue. Or it could be serious. I had all those same lights come on and it turned out that the Cam Position Sensor was fked. Turns out that my box had bent valves. You can find more threads related to this issue using "search" look for VSC, Trac Off, and Engine Check Light. Good luck!

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
You say you havn't done any mods, does that include subs and amps?. It may sound funny but I had an amp put in my xB and the shop screwed it the the floor in the rear and drove the screw through the canister in under the floor. After about a day or 2 I started getting the same lights, When I took it to the dealership that is what they discovered.

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
My VSC light, EWL, Track off lights *all* came on two days ago. Thankfully my husband found this web site. My husband had to reset the system by disconnecting the negative terminal to the battery for a couple minutes.
I didn't have 3 days to wait for a reset on its own. This has worked for now- NOTE- I did just get gas two days ago and thought I put the cap back on tight.

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
I just joined the club so i hope this is still an active thread. i have had my xb for about a year now and when i bought it it had a AEM CAI on it already and i have had no problems with it so far. but all of the sudden the "3 stooges" lights came on and idk why. i have had it looked at before for an unrelated issue, and they (the dealership) said that my brakes were getting to where they needed to be replaced. would a worn out brake pad be causing these lights? if not what would??? plz help and thanks

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
Worn out pads wouldn't cause any warning lights on our cars unless the brake fluid is too low too.
Any time you have the Check Engine Light ON, there is an information stored in the car's computer that's available for the taking. You need at least an ECM Code Reader to find out what the specific trouble code is.

Re: VSC Light, Trac Off, Engline Check Lights are all on
I didn't do anything but put cold water in the radiator. they stated off for a while, then came back on, now there off. I heard like 1 in every 4 20o5 scion xb will get that problem. i've talked to my club members on scikotics and they have the vsc, trac, and engline like come on too.

Another thing I found out from my dealer is DO NOT top of your gas tank. Getting it full is 1 thing but filling it to the top causes some of the fuel to go into the canister. And that will cause you problems down the road.

Yeah I've heard of that before but I didn't think that it would through all of those lights eventually. The more you know the better off you will be right?
