Re: high output alternator question

DC Power makes them, Mechman makes them, Excessive Amperage makes them, and Irragi probably does too.

I would recommend the DC Power. Last I talked to Rob, he said they have all the parts to put together their XP line together.

It's not 300amps, but good luck finding any alternator that makes 300amps above 10k RPM for our cars.

Re: high output alternator question

thats what i am talking about right there,it doesnt have to be 300,i am not gonna be running the amp at 1/2 ohm so it wont be needing that much, now i just have to run a few more loads during the week and see if i can get that sucker ordered, thanks for the link

Re: high output alternator question

It's a little expensive, but I really wish that option was around when I picked up my 180amp unit from Maniac Electric Motors. I mean, it works, but I could have scooped up the DC joint for a little more and had almost twice the power.
I'm running my Sundown SAZ-3000D at .75ohm on a daily basis with the OEM battery, the aforementioned alternator, and an XS D3100. I drop to low 12volts during burps, but that's about it.

Re: high output alternator question

sweet,i have talked to a couple of guys i know that are into the audio industry pretty heavy and they all say to get the dc ,they say it has the best power rating and it has the best durability that they have seen in aftermarket alternators,i just need to run 2 more loads a day for the next 2 weeks and i should have enough to get it,my only reason for thinking a 300 was that the xta 5000 can get down to 1/2 ohm but my 15 flatlyne is 2 ohm so no need unless i get another, wich i dont see happening in the near future, unless my wife does decide to let me pull the back seats and wall the xb,than i will get 2 completely different 15s that can be dropped down to 1/2 ohm for an occasional comp

Re: high output alternator question

No need to run that much power to a Flatlyne anyway.

Definitely look into some sound dampening material. I've ran Second Skin's Damplifier Pro exclusively. Great product.

Re: high output alternator question

its completely deadened from front to back, the doors are sealed and produce awesome midbass, atleast to my ears,i do plan on upgrading in the future when i am able to pull the back seat out and put in a wall,so the amp is a perfect fit,

---------- Post added 12-19-2012 at 08:59 PM ----------

its wired in 8 ohm so its not even sweating, the sub sounds awesome, just gotta get rid of a pesky rattle in the drivers side door controls, but everything else is solid,
