The sun green light is just to let you know that your low beam headlights are on.
You should have a green thermostat light come on for a couple of minutes when you start the box, now mine is a 2011 so I am not for sure on the 08 but I would think they would be the same. It has a "c" above it but it only takes a very short time before it goes out. That is the "cold" engine indicator.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I just changed my license plate bulbs to led.

HELP!! Cooling help!!
Hope this is in the right section.
106 degrees. Came out the gym today. Took the xb to the end of the parking lot. AC was blowing hot air. Looked at temp gauge and it was over heating. Turned it off immediately. I looked and noticed low coolant so I filled it with the manufactured coolant and fed it thru the reservoir. Drive around parking lot. Car got hot again. Fan kicks in, hoses have pressure in them. Coolant never went into radiator. Matter of fact. It came up some. What do I do. I don't know where the radiator cap is . I'll research now but any info helps

Re: HELP!! Cooling help!!
You really won't know if it's sticking. Check upper and lower radiator hose if the are some what the same temp your thermostat is fine. If one I noticeable Colder when it's over heating then you have a thermostat problem. I would assume you have a fan problem. Considering it's over heating and a/c is not working

Re: HELP!! Cooling help!!
Take it to a shop. If you don't know where the coolant cap or thermostat are, you aren't qualified to do the work yourself.
Possible problems: thermostat stuck closed, radiator blocked, coolant leaking (usually a leaking hose), leaking head gasket, worse.
What you can check: compare temps of upper & lower radiator hoses, check oil dipstick for water in the oil, check radiator coolant for oil in the coolant, check hoses for leaks, check coolant cap to be sure it's tight, check radiator for leaks.=

Re: HELP!! Cooling help!!
Update ::: went to the car after work and the coolant wasn't in the reservoir. I guess there was to much pressure in the system the day b4. Took it for test drive. Ran great. It did spike 1 time. I quickly turned it off and coasted. 30sec later. Turned engine over and issue is now gone. I topped the reservoir b4 going to work tonight. Not sure how much coolant is needed or when do I stop

^You're looking for trouble with that last post! I agree with Best 100% . You are, if not already going to do serious damage to your engine. Overheat issues will destroy an engine fast. STOP DRIVING IT lmao. I hate to see a B get tortured.

Re: HELP!! Cooling help!!
Take it to a shop ASAP. You're sitting on a possible $3,000 engine replacement job if you keep driving it with this issue.
