YES! I got one from a site that was like $56 three or four months ago. I thought if it didn't do what I wanted, I'd just say screw it and throw it away.
I spend
lots of time on SoCal freeways at 80 mph. What I like is that the wind deflector reduces wind noise on the top front corners of the cabin. I believe it does nothing for MPG, as I get 28-29mpg consistently for the last 10k+ miles.
Oddly enough, the wind seems to curl up off mine then there's a downdraft just ahead of the windshield that puts lots of force on the windshield wipers. It broke the sun-dried blade edges off of the wiper itself!! They flapped around until I got to work and ripped them off. :P
As far as preventing things hitting your windscreen, I think it actually helps. Heavy bugs and heavy rocks will get through, but I'm hearing less of the small rocks and getting less little bugs.
The bug deflector, switching back to stock wheels, and cruise control let me make 300+ mile days ok in the car. My other road trip rig is a V6 minivan that gets 18mpg and isn't as comfortable or fun to drive.
