Scion xB Audio, Video, & Security Scion xB in car entertainment (aka Scion xB I.C.E.). With all the room available the sky is the limit when adding Scion xB car audio and video. While you're tinkering with the Scion xB electrical system why not install a Scion xB security system.

iPod interface cable

Just a few questions. Does the iPod interface cable give better audio then the aux, cuz the aux input sucks. Secondly does the ipod cable charge iPhones? I know they sell adapters but idk if i need it or not.

Re: iPod interface cable

Sound quality, yes. My ipod connector is WAY better than using the aux. As far as charging, that might depend on the cable and the "i" device. My RS3 alpine unit adapter will charge my old 1st gen ipod, but will not charge my newer ipod, ipad or iphone.

Re: iPod interface cable

I have an 06 xB I just got. Can I just add an ipod interface cable to the back of the OEM HU and get ipod connectivity?

Re: iPod interface cable

I have 06 xb with the 1806 pioneer. It has axx and ipod ports by e-brake. I used the aux input for ipod and it works. I hope this means that If I buy the ipod adapter plug that fits in by brake that ipod will play from it and display on the screen. Does anyone know if this will work?

Re: iPod interface cable

I bought a used 2009 XB. Where can I find the IPOD Cable other than EBay at a great price. I think the part number is PT546-21062. Wanted the best price in case it does not work how I hope it will. Should charge and be able to operate IPod and hopefully the IPhone from the radio buttons

Re: iPod interface cable

My mom has an 2nd gen Scion xB ('07?). Hers came with the iPod dock and it charges and controls her iPod via the steering wheel controls.

I have an 06 xB with the stock radio. I don't know the number but curious if all you need is the adapter? I have a 6th Gen iPod that I have wired up and sits in my cigarette ashtray. I found a USB/3.5mm all in one that uses the iPod port and works well, except I have to manually tap on it to skip to the next song.

I don't know if my unit even has an iPod connector

If somewhere on the face of the radio or on the function buttons it says iPod then your radio is iPod ready or iPod functioning. That being said the post above yours does give the part number for the ipod cable (which plugs into the back of your stereo and leads into your glove box from the back side) can be bought either online at TRDsparks, eBay, on the classifieds here, or at the stealership.

In my first gen box I have the 2010 premium radio with a second gen ipod/usb/aux cable. It cost me an arm and a leg for the cable (I wouldn't recommend it lol). It was a long arduous process. If you want to be able to control it.

Do you even have a stock radio? I dont think that there was a way to have a USB port on a first gen. I would be wrong but i dont remember ever seeing it.
