Lady Meg's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
Completed my first (and probably will be the easiest) mod today, courtesy of Cliff...
Stock Knobs - I'm sure these look disgustingly familiar to everyone. Try not to retch on your keyboards, please, I'm new to all of this...
Nekkid Knobs- Where did they go? :P
My first pieces of BADASS, a la Cliff... (not the best pics, but I'm working with a Windows Phone, so go easy one me.
Easiest install EVAR! And instant attitude for my new baby...
And I have to have one more "name dropping" photo... because Cliff is pretty fekking awesome, which you all already knew. :P (once again, ignore the crappy photos... Windows Phone + no editing software = sheety shots)
So there... I'm getting started. I'll take a shot this evening with the backlight on so I can capture the full effect of this badass mod.
Once more, a million "thank-you's" to Cliff for helping get me started. Can't wait to move on to the dome light and license plate lights...

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
lol Cliff's knobs are pretty awesome, aren't they?
I'm having trouble getting the LED dome light in, it seems to be longer than the stock bulb. So I'm not sure if I'm even installing it correctly, since it doesn't seem to fit... any advice?

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
Yeah, it's from Cliff... it's a 6 LED, I'm just worried about breaking it by trying to force the tapered ends to make contact. Is there any kind of polarity to worry about... neither of the ends are marked...?

Nice start. They kind of remind me of one of those hand juicers.

Megan is on her way to becoming an xB modding fiend (that is a very good thing).
And no one on this site will disagree with this statement:
"...Cliff is pretty fekking awesome..."
(BTW, he's a PW guy at heart!)

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
lol
Yes, I'm very quickly becoming anxious to get those LEDs in... the Hubby had a 24 hour duty post last night, so we've been napping all afternoon. I know I've got the tools to get the license plate bulbs switched out, so perhaps I'll do that when we get back from grabbing some food. I'm still very nervous about putting in the dome light, though...

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
How long does it take for the LED's to actually light for the first time after they are installed? I've tried twice now, engine off but put to door setting with the door cracked, and it hasn't come on... Did I do something wrong?

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
Okay, got the dome light in and working (haooydance!) and now I'm having issues with the tag lights... I'm telling you guys, simple things never go very simply for me. lol I didn't want to open the hatch to work on the tag lights, so I did it sitting on the ground with a flashlight, which earned me more than a couple of strange looks. :P Perhaps I didn't seat the connecting ends very well, because neither of them came on when I started the car and turned on all of the lights. I'll go back tomorrow during the day and redo them and check again once it gets dark enough... I'm not planning on going anywhere after dark in the immediate future, so I'm not entirely concerned with needing them right now.

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
Check the connections on the bulbs and make sure they make contact within the socket. Also try plugging the bulb the other way, as these bulbs only activate depending on which way you plugged it in.

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
And it's much easier to change the tag lights with the hatch open. (Sorta resting against you, not fully open unless you 6'6" tall!!)

Re: Lady McCoy's Build Thread... Starting Oh-So-Small...
Thank you for the advice, I'll put it all into action tomorrow!
I promise I'm not totally ignorant or incapable of doing these mods, as simple as they are. I'm just one of those "anything that can go wrong generally does" type of people... that's my luck. lol (I blame my father, really.)
