does size really matter????

ok here the deal

i realized with my stock wheel and tires the ride is smoother but slower.

with the 185/60/14r i have on the ride is horrible but faster and save more gas too.

can someone tell me is it just my stupid head playing tricks or does size really matter.

The ride should be the same, as those are the same specs as the 15 in stock tires.

It may seem that your ride is accelerating faster with that setup, but you are not saving fuel because you are traveling less distance with the smaller diameter tires.

Your 14 inch tires are 5% too small. That means that your speedometer will record more miles than you are actually driving. It will also seem to jump up faster...by 5%. And yes size does really matter, NOT RIM SIZE, but overall diameter matters. So a 185/60/15 (stock tire and wheel from Scion) is the same as a 205/60/14 , as would be a 215/35/18, and a 215/40/17. These examples are all within .3% of the correct diameter (other sizes can also fall in this range as well. Yours are kinda small...
