Fabric panel on door - removable or not?

I am wanting to cover those little fabric covered pieces on each of the doors, but it seems like these do not come off - any ideas on removing them without splitting the door panel in half lol?

My id is wantxb cos I joined this forum waaay before I even bought my Xb!!

That part does not come out it is solid. What you have to do is cut the fabric a little bigger and then use something to push it down into the little gap

Re: Fabric panel on door - removable or not?

Yeah I was tryin to avoid that but I think thats the only option. I have come across pics on the net of people doing it that way and alot of them looked tacky - guess it depends on the person doing it

I have pics of mine up on Scionlife.com, it's in the second gen forum "Best Looking xB's... Let's see em" post number 868. The trick I used is when I tucked the fabric in, I used that little roller for putting piping into screen windows... It's perfect. One roller is rounded the other one has a groove in it.

They can be cut out and carefully screwed back together. I have done both a couple times and preferred method is cut out. You can totally wrap the panel and gives less patient people like me a much cleaner look.
