DIY: Spark plug replacement

I just hit 40,000 on my 06 Scion xB and it was time to do some preventive mainatanence. changed the oil/filter,tires,lube,rotate tires,etc...

THIS IS SUCH AN EASY DIY~it should take you less than 30 mins to get done.

TOOLS NEEDED ARE:

10mm socket/ratchet wrench

5/8 spark plug socket

10" 1/2 drive extension

1/2" ratchet

spark plug gap adjuster

4 NGk platinum plugs

ok, i chose the NGK Platinum(2.49)@ autozone because my car is tock and i didnt want to buy the irridium and waste $10 for no extra gain besides longer plug life. I plan on doing this every year,so I went with platinum(upgrade over stock copper plugs)

Step I
disconnected the neg bat cable(10mm) and removed the 10mm(4) screw caps off the plastic engine cover

Step II
remove the CAI 10mm hold down bolts...pull the first tube extension out and use the extension and ratchet to remove the plug...you'll be surprised how wore out the plug electrode tip is! if the plugs come gapped from the factory at 0.31 then its really important to replace them as all 4 plugs i pulled were opened to 0.52

Step III
double check the NGK platinums and the gaps are set @ 0.38,so i left them at that gap to see if theres any difference...

Step IV
reverse the previous 3 steps and your done...have pics, but need to resize them

updated pics!
