Getting car out of emergency mode???

So I've been having some issues w/my MAF and the check engine lights going off an on. I'm getting P0103, P0012, & P01010, so 2 for the MAF and one for the cam shaft position.

I got my clutch replaced 2 weeks ago, and after that my car started going into limp mode/emergency mode and it won't go over 3000 RPMs. I've read a lot about WHY it happens and what to do to troubleshoot and fix it. I'm going to put my stock intake back in this weekend... it's a brand new MAF sensor... but after using two OBD machines (I work for a company who makes them) and trying several state softwares... I could clear two codes, but the P0101 for MAF position error is still there and car stuck in emergency mode. Even w/a scantool the code wouldn't clear.

Any one have tips on how to get car back to normal? I'm thinking pulling ECU fuses or unplugging battery for awhile, but I think the code will just come back/car in emergency mode again. As far as troubleshooting, after I put my stock intake back I'm going to see what happens, and if that doesn't work maybe replace the ECU (I heard it wasn't that hard) and go from there.

Any ideas or advice? Help me make my car go over 3000 RPMs again!!! I'm sick of doing 55 in the slow lane haha

Disconnect the battery for 10 minutes. It sure can't hurt, and it only costs you 10 minutes.

Re: Getting car out of emergency mode???

Look for the problem with the MAF plug, like pulled pins or broken wires:

I think there was another thread open for the exact same thing. Think she got a replacement MAF that was bad and was going to exchange it for a working part.

Here's the other thread... http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f28/k-n...ems-39905.html

Re: Getting car out of emergency mode???

yeah... these are both my threads lol. this one is more "emergency mode" because I thought it was something different from the problem not being fixed. I sure have learned a lot with this sensor problem!!!!

Re: Getting car out of emergency mode???

it's good now - the reason it was stuck in emergency mode was because the brand new MAF was bad so it was a pending code and couldn't be cleared. I replaced MAF, unhooked battery for an hour, and when I plugged battery back in it was clear.

Re: Getting car out of emergency mode???

next time to fully clear everything and restore everything back to factory default, you can disconnect both positive and negative wires of the battery and touch them both together

oh, and i do have to stress that before you do that, make sure both wires are DISCONNECTED from the battery
