Help!! dash light-VSC,ABS,trac off,Brake

VSC,ABS,trac off,Brake indicator lights are all solid on.
It happened after i took off the battery(ground wire to post) for 4 hours, for some testing, then when I put it back on and drove half a block, i notice all this 4 indicator lights are on.
I didn't notice any limping on the motor, but i decided to go back home and use another car.

just got home, and started the xB, still same lights on.

Does anyone ever experience something like this?? whats the fix???

I did talk to Eric about this and just waiting if he find some answer, but if anyone knows, help!!!!

Sid. I know it's a common problem and most people say the car drives fine with them on...

Maybe this thread will help you a bit...

Re: Help!! dash light-VSC,ABS,trac off,Brake

only way to tell exactly what caused it, is to hook it up to the obd reader. to reset, just either disconnect the negative battery for 5 mins and then hook back up, or, you can removed the EFI fuse in the fuse block next to the battery for 2 or 3 mins, and that will have the same effect without erasing your stereo memory, etc. only drawback is that it will reset the mapping of your VVTI, and it will take a few drives for it to "learn" how you drive again.

Re: Help!! dash light-VSC,ABS,trac off,Brake

Hey, I had a similar dash light up scenario, but you know what my issue was? I didn't secure my gas cap tight enough. It ran fine on the way home from work but I took it to Toyota and they hit me up for $100 just to tell me that I need to tighten up after refills. Talk about stupid but it was a good lesson learned. The codes threw a "fuel evaporation" code. Twist at least 4 good loud "clicking" turns. It happened 6 days after last fillup. Hope that helps!!!

sid, leave the car on for a bit, take it for a spin or just let it run for a while. get the alternator moving. if that doesnt help, gotta get the obd reader.

also check yer alternator.

heres some info in regards to the dummy lights. first things first, go to the most simplest thing first. back track what you did prior to the dummy lights turning on. i.e. battery, connection, fuse, cables, etc.

btw, get a hold of either jason aka: "scvscions" or victor aka: "pch" theyre certified techs.

gluck bro.

Re: Help!! dash light-VSC,ABS,trac off,Brake

btw, sid is running the red top optima which drained couple of times and have recharged it. iirc, optima needs to be trickled charge on high?

sid, have that battery checked. if anything, you should have a warranty on those or where you purchased them from if its not holding charge.

Re: Help!! dash light-VSC,ABS,trac off,Brake

I tested the alternator, its giving 13.99 volts, engine idle.
Battery gives 12.6-12.38(engine shut off), slowly draining.

Gave it a 5 block run this morning, no limping, but 4 lights still there.
I will drive it more later today and see how it goes.

i'm trying to save the Optima, draining(dead bat) only happen if i don't start the xB for 2 days.

Re: Help!! dash light-VSC,ABS,trac off,Brake

I don't have that relay either, just empty plug. Guess that's not used on xB's.
Try checking all fuses. If you have a test light just probe both sides so you don't have to pull them out- very quick this way. What happend doesn't make much sense, but rule out the basics.
