Getting rid of these tiny bars.

All Done! As simple as removing and reinstalling 4 bolts.
That's awesome! Let us know how she handles now.

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

I'm liking the look of that brace, any chance of a link to where a UK member could buy such a thing please? I can think of no good reason for not buying one of these things and I suspect that this, along with an upgrade from yellow to purple polybushes, will tame the car's tendency to twitch when accelerating hard out of a turn. I'm used to this and don't mind too much, but some of my passengers have expressed concern and questioned whether the car was in fact likely to fall off the road.
Some folk worry too much!

Today, I swapped out the bB's stock H4s for a pair of Cree's finest LED headlamps, just back from trying them out on a route involving twenty or so miles of unlit country roads and they're good without a doubt, but need to come down on the vertical adjusters by a couple of threads as dipped beam provides instant daylight for seemingly miles ahead but high beam appears to be aimed at something on the surface of the moon. Solving this will be tomorrow's task and I shouldn't really have neglected to use the beam setter before going out so I can't blame the car, the lamps or the quality of the parts, which are beautifully made and reassuringly solid, unlike some of the cheap ones currently flooding eBay.
£44.99 including special D @ £8 as I'm impatient and didn't want to wait a week for Amazon's free delivery service.

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

Today I am working on finishing the wiring on the interior. Installed leds in grab handles, second dome light. Fold down DVD tv broke after 4 years ,It really keeps the kids happy so I got a new one. Put some leds in dash , leds in vents, also installing custom gauges in dash with pods I made (on going project have them all made and painted) anyone know for sure what the thread size in the engine drain collent are ? I have been told that my sending unit will screw in, also got i tee for my oil pressure gauge looks nice. driving with out dash for a month now can't wait to fanally finish it off. Will not be today but getting closer Lol. Also since mine is a 2004 ran the wiring for the fog lights . I had a problem when I put in the bulb on drivers side it hit on my aem cold air filter ( cut little off one of the bulb tabs now the bulb wiring points up and clears ) and added two USB charging plugs . FINALLY After A really long wait my Classio seat covers arrived from Japan they look super nice. Also ordered some extra fabric, for the doors , also got the heating kit some I ran the wires for that to. Hope everyone has a nice Easter. John

I purchased this one used on an xB wsale group on facebook, but there are definitely similar braces from megan, tanabe, cusco and others all over online. It does feel like there is less cowl shake over road irregularities and rough surfaces. So far I'm pleased with it.

*..Adds chassis brace and fancy mirror to ever-lengthening "WANT" list..*

I can see this site inspiring many, many expensive future purchases of bB-related bling! Excellent!

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

Changed my automatic shifter handle to a orange ball with a shift boot . It's was a lot of work had to relocated the over drive switch . I didn't like how high it was so I cut about a 2 inches off the metal. Also while I had the console apart I added my arm rest and put a led in the rear cup holder. I really like the new look . Looks like a manual not lol.

How did you handle the button you have to press in order to shift? I've been wanting to convert mine but wasn't sure how. Also pics?

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

Will post some pics later. I used a adapter from sick speed bought it on eBay it's around 25 dollars, basically you remove your handle it's two Phillips screws. Cut the wire for the over drive, I removed the console and put my switch in there. It doesn't mater which wire goes where. The adapter comes with a set screw and a sleeve . Once you remove your handle you will see white plastic sticking out of your shifter you must cut it down some , I just did I little at a time. Put the shift boot on. I had to grind down my trim ring to get it to snap back on. Now to shift it you push down on the ball, and after you shift it pops back up. If you want it to be able to shift like a slap shifter just lock the plastic down with the set screw. I didn't do that I was worried that something might knock it into reverse. If you look on U tube you can find a few videos of it there hope this helps you. John

Was pleased to find there's a little more than 8ft of length with the front seats folded down!

Re: What did you do to your xb today??

Decided to run the stock steelies for a while. Cleaned them up and gave em a coat of paint and some trim rings.

Also installed this rack that I picked up from a wrecking yard some time ago. Took a bit of work to get it presentable.

need some wiring help please

Need some help. Sorry I know this is the wrong thread but I can't start any threads yet. Today I was hooking up my gauges, they have led bulbs. I spliced into the dimmer switch wiring. Problem is the gauge illumination is back wards. When I dim my lights the gauges get brighter. When I increase the lights my gauges get dimmer. I can't reverse the wires on the leds because than they don't light. Any advise is greatly appreciated thanks john

Easy Street air lift struts in the front and some double convoluted Goodyear bags on the back. This is aired up. At that low iron rubs like crazy on the front. The back is fine.
