Okay, at this point, let's open this up to suggestions. Some that I've received are worthy of implementing, such as:
1. Using the holding as a "newb section" until they fulfill the club criteria, and they are deemed to be helpful to the community.
Newbs will be able to post/comment only in the holding area, and will be able to view all post/threads but not able to post comments on other threads till they make probation. (Moderator approved.)
2. Increasing the post count in order to place an advertisement in the classifieds forum.
We currently have a 25 post minimum in order to place an ad, however some try to skirt around the rule by jacking another thread with their parts, or posting in another section (Regional forums, for instance). We've had too many members burned because someone posts up with parts to sell, then get the money and disappear. Personally, I feel better doing business with someone who has an interest in this site other than making a sale.

I'm a noob and i quite agree. My suggestion would be to make sure that When people want to register that the club criteria is clearly listed on the Forum Rules page. Including how many posts you have to have in order to do certain things, where you can view posts, where you can post, the name of a moderator if you have any questions, etc., etc. This is my first forum and I have just been reading all sorts of information before and after I bought my xB for ideas and DIY's and events in my area. I love this site and all of the info but I didnt know I had to have a certain number of posts to do certain things or how to find posts that have been moved (still dont know how to do that). So I'll add my name to the list. Great Idea.

Let's here it!! | in regards to selling items on site before 25 count can be controlled easier as they will be in the tank, and members would be alarmed when newbs post things for sale. if post like that comes up in the tank, members should report "SPAM" to mods so that mods can give newbs a friendly reminder to the criteria.
after "25", members need to use discerment by checking their "member profile" and their "posts" to see their activity here on the forum is helpful to the community or posting crp just to reach "25"

Here are few loose ideas:
Since the majority of the spam comes through the first and only post the member will ever make, lets isolate that to one area where it can be easy for Mods to zap. Holding Tank area may have "My first post" thread (one for all the noobs) where they have to say hello and introduce themselfes with some basic info, if they like. That first post can always be easily viewed through the Profie page, so it wll add some transparency. Let them post pics in the "New Rides" etc, but they can only post and create threads in the Holding Area. I think 1-2 weeks is a good time to spend there.
Waiting period to post For Sale adds in Classifieds (like 1 month). I dont think we should go by the post count. Businesses can become Sponsors to skip that.
We allready have policy regarding thread jacking. | |

Random Ideas:
* Up the post count for Classifieds to at least 50! Because noobs can hang around for a week and post BS posts just to get up to 25 and become a FS Troll. Once they've hit the 50, have it so a mod has to scan the posts (just a quick process) to make sure they are legit, then accept them to post on the whole site.
* Have the noobs go some sort of an "interview process", kinda like the new members section but stating what info we want, for example: Stats, pictures of them & their xB or future xB (to make sure it isn't someone whose been banned previously), why they're even here in the first place, etc.
