White box - which rims and tires

Will these work with the new 08' xB?

http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fin...*5-4.5%25252F5

What sort of tires should I look for? I'm totally new to this stuff and don't know shit! Haha ....

Thanks.

From what I read from here and other sites, its a 114.3 so not a TC.

Any good sites to window shop for designs?

Look on ebay. Discount tire sells sets for a fraction of what they cost. I just bought a set of 4 liquid metal wingman in the 16x7, 5x114 bolt pattern for $252, free shipping. They look pretty close to the ones you were looking at. The local discount tire store could not even come close to matching the price.

Cool, what's the ebay's seller's name? I'll go check out his stock. Least from your purchase I know the seller is for real. Did you have any issues with that guy?

Re: White box - which rims and tires

I'd go with a bronze color.

Here is a 08' with bronze.

And a wheel powder coated at my work (Copper Vein), if I still had my 18's it would take me about a second to decide on this color. It's a crackle color, awesome.

Those are GROOVY!!!! I like the color. Looks like it changes with the angle of the light.

Re: White box - which rims and tires

I haven't, I have bought four sets of wheels through Discount Tire though. They are kinda pricey, but the extra cost is really towards warranties and everything. They replaced a complete set of $600 tires for me once under warranty.

I personally pay the extra and get my tires at discount if I buy them new.

I was there today.

Re: White box - which rims and tires

Hey Staypuft,

Those babies are real nice!!!

I tried going to their website to configure a set but they don't have yet a data base for the new 08 xB So I'll need to search it the old fashion way

I'm all the way here in Hawaii. Damn I wonder what the shipping cost is going to be!

Besides the 5-114.3mm/5-4.5" and 19"s what advice do you have selecting wheels/rims and tires that'll fit? What wheel width? 8? 9?

I'm thinking brushed finish (not into mirror) & not too many spokes. Kinda like Enkei RP03 typeRC but cheaper!!! haha

What brands would you recommend for both wheels and tires?

Thanks.

Re: White box - which rims and tires

I keept these in the same realm as the stock setup. I am not pushing the limits of my xB... thats what the xA is for.

I will post the details of the rims/tires later. However I know there are others out there that know whay more detaisl about rims/ tires. I tend to just buy what i like and what the computer says will have no fitment problems.

mafg, go bright pink, or something wild like that. You could do true xB Classic and go red with a deep polished lip.

Sorry boombox, I tried it already but Scion says those colors are an offence on the 08 xBs they are exclusively for the 1st gens. Thanks for sharing your fashion tips though.

Hehe!

p/s: nice spermship .... oops typo, i meant spaceship

Hi Staypuft,

I'm pretty much like u, unfortunately i haven't found any computer fitment data for the 08 xBs at all the major online stores, hence this thread.

A reply from the chief tech guy at www.tirerack.com even said they could not recommend any wheels and tires until Sep/Oct; that's when they get a 08 xB to test fit.

Re: White box - which rims and tires

MIke let me know if if you See any wheels your looking for.. I can get you pretty much any wheel..

those sites in the mainland like to rip HAwaii people off when they ship to us... I have vendors and connection that will ship to me at very good price using freight not the FED EX way.

My sugestion is teh JAzz J2 wheels that you asked me about, or Axis wheels if your buget isnt that much.. but if you dont have a budget i go with WORKS, SSRs, Volks and so on..

Stick with 19s the 18s look to small IMO. 18s looks good on the old XB but the new XB is a larger car .. Even 19s look sort of small..

So when you getting your car..
