Too Good To Be True?

So I've been looking for wheels for a while, sweating over weight, offset, etc... I finally settled on 18x7.5 XXR 502s. I got my shipping conformation from FedEx, and they list the package weight as 56 lbs.! That's only 14 lbs. a wheel, and that includes packing material! I'm guessing it must just be a typo, right? I've seen much more expensive 18s that aren't that light.

are you sure on the size? maybe there 15" rims or.... i donno it could be true.... i had a set of 18x8's and they were only 16.5 lbs and they were low cost.... i guess you wont know til they get here

probably two wheels per box...so more like 23lbs each

Sorry I can't post links yet. So, you'll have to do some googling to find the tables I refer to below...

According to the spec table at 1010tires.com the XXR 502 in 18x7.5 weighs 23 lbs. each.

To get down to 14 lbs, each in that size, you'd need to go with something like a forged magnesium wheel. The lightest 18x7.5 wheels listed at wheelweights.net are 15 lbs. each. From the same table, the lightest cast 18x7.5 wheel is the Kosei K1 TS at 16 lbs. I have these wheels in 18x8 on my RS6 xb and they weigh 17 lbs, each in that size.

Thanks, PDXxB. I saw that table, now that you mention it. I guess I am just overly hopeful. I always want to feel like I got something even better than I paid for!
