Snow Chains Or Cables

I Know When I Bought My Box The Dealer Said Not To Put Any Snow Chains On But What The Heck Am I Supposed To Use Please Help Going To The Snow Next Week

I have a 1st gen and have used cables without any problems.

Cables are where it is at. They work great. Make sure you take your time putting them on and make sure they are snug all the way around. Give yourself some room in the chain up area so you can drive forward to make sure they are not to loose or rub. If they are they can eat up your wheel well/fender very quickly. Just don't drive too fast and be prepared for a loud ride. You will be passing everyone that is to lazy to put them on.

just get some used snow tires...and some steelies...you can get a pair for about $100 or less..i have seen them on craigslist...give it a try!

I would ask whomever you talked to at the dealer for a better explanation as to their statement regarding the use of chains. Find out if this was expressed from "Toyota" or just something that the dealership was coming up with on their own.
