| Re: How to Turn off Tire pressure monitor? I do not know how to turn them off but I believe that you can have the sensors taken out of the old wheels and mounted in the new ones. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. |

| Re: How to Turn off Tire pressure monitor? These new air pressure monitoring systems are required on all cars now. The only way to turn off the light is to put the sensors into your new wheels. I still have lots of friends in the wheel and tire biz and none of them have figured out how to turn any cars air pressure light off. Best of luck. If all else fails take apart the dash and get a black sharpie and color it black. |

| Re: How to Turn off Tire pressure monitor? What we did on my anouther techs Tacoma because he put on some wheels and tires was we took the sensors out of his stock wheels and then broke down his spare tire placed all 4 sensors inside then inflated the tire to 32 psi and no more lite u just better hope u dont get a flat or u will destroy the sensors and they are expensive.
i think im gonna try this next time, using the toyota scan tool go in and get all the regisration id's and programe all the id's the same so u can put 1 sensor in the spare and thats it of course our cars have a doughnut but if u had a full size spare it would be perfect. |

| Re: How to Turn off Tire pressure monitor? another easy way to do this is to grab a length of pvc pipe, stuff some rags in it, stuff your tpms's in it, cap/eal it off, and put a threaded air valve on one end, and pump it up with air to 35psi, and toss it in the back of the car. |

| Re: How to Turn off Tire pressure monitor? You could just transfer the senors but the thing about the senor in my xb vs my bimmer is the xb does not tell you what tire and how low it is. I am going to look for the fuse and pull that out. That should do the trick if it is and independent fuse. |

| Re: How to Turn off Tire pressure monitor? I think I read somewhere that they are going to make the monitors mandatory. For those of us in the snow belts, that would mean either:
1. buying new ones for the winter tires (I run 18s in the warm months, stock 16 rims with snow tires in the winter), or
2. changing your auto inspection date to a cold month like February when you'd have the stock wheels on and the monitors would work.
I'm frugal and opt for a February inspection sticker. Thanks, Ron |

And extra sensors are a little pricey for just saying that tire is low and not telling me which tire i slow and how low it is. |

I couldn't stand to have that light on all winter. |

| Re: How to Turn off Tire pressure monitor? i work with tires all day (goodyear) the way the sensors work, at least on the new xB is its a unit that replaces the valve stem, if you break down the wheel it looks like a valve stem with a box on the bottom, and with a simple socket wrench you can transfer it to just about any wheel you want... its really easy and any tire shop should be able to do it for you at little to no charge...
... and if you take your car back to the same shop come winter time, they shouldn't have any problem swapping them back...

And for tire monitors, kev_xb is that person. Thanks much. You solved, I beleive, everyone's problems. Ron |
