I asked the same question that you did when I was thinking of putting non TRD rims and tires. I went to Discount Tires and asked them about the sensors. They said they will take the sensors off the old rims and place them on the new ones. Your best bet to find out for sure is to go to rim/tire shops and ask if they can do the work.

The sensors can be moved from the old wheels to the new ones. I went through Americas Tire Co.

QFT, Any reputable shop should just switch them over for you. Make sure that you REMIND them seeing as you know this now!

Big Brand Tire swapped them out for free, but if you do plan on keeping your stock steelies, provide them with your own valve stems to replace those tpms they just took off. Haven't had any problems with the new tire setup with the tpms sensors. Good luck.

Some wheels will leak with the TPMS sensors, I had to go with regular valve stems and now the light stays on. Depends on thickness of the wheel I guess. I have XXR/Sportmax.

I'm not sure about switching the sensors, since I got new tires with barely 2k on em. Maybe buy extra sensors and switch from stock to rims?? I've seen a fair share of those sensors on Ebay tbh...
