Re: 225/45x18 on a gen 2

When I bought my 18s from Tirerack.com they suggested 235/40R18 tires....now it will soon be time for new tires so I have been doing some shopping and they now default to suggesting 225/45R18 tires. The same tire is quite a bit more expensive in the 225/45R18 but there are a couple of other options that look interesting so I was thinking of going with one of them.

With the 235/40R18 my speedo is very close +1-2 MPH if those road side radar "your going XX MPH" signs are accurate which I believe them to be judging by the GPS based cyclocomputer on my bike.

So to answer your question I think 225/45R18 would probably be right in regards to the speedo...narrower than what I am running now but the ratio is up 5% so it should offset the narrower width.

i ahve 225/45x18 and they fit perfect , but my box isn't lowered yet.it might rub just a bit when lowered but it should be fine.

and the width is 7.5

Hey Badazz, could you show us some pics of the back of the car, and the front please? Those look good BUT we can't actually see how staggered they are. I am planning on getting 18's as well.

I thank you beforehand =)

Re: 225/45x18 on a gen 2

Here are a few angled shots from the side. I probally could have gone a little wider in the rear to make the tire really flush with the rear fender but it would prevent me from rotating tires front to back. The rear tires sit a little in from the outside of the car but it still looks awsome. Hope these help.

If you want the rears to sit flush you need spacers.

You should be good. Also depends on the offset of the wheel.
