| xB2 woofer placement Has anyone put subs under the front seats? I notice them for sale for the first generation xB but not yet for xB2. I imagine 8" would be the biggest I could fit. I have never used 8s before, Im more of 2 10s kind of guy. Would I be satisfied with 8s under the seats? or should I just go ahead and soak up some of the trunk space with 1 nice 10 or maybe 12. I dont want to loose the spare tire so it will probably have to take up about a square foot or 2 of the trunk space. I will probably mount the amps under the rear seat but not completly set on that idea either.
I have only had the car 2 days and have loads of options flowing through my head..
I would like to hear ideas and opinions. Even more Id like to see pictures!

| Re: xB2 woofer placement Dang a 12"!? How does it sound? I have never heard a shallow mount sub before. I dont know what to expect. Same quality as a standard 350w rms 1400w peak sub?
Padanky, do you fire that woofer up towards the seat?
I wonder what 2 shallow mount 10's firing down to the ground would sound like... I might have to try this.

| Re: xB2 woofer placement dude, just throw it in the back.
if you are at all like me, enough is never enough, and you're not going to get enough with one shallow 12...even though it would be firing up your ass
im actually considering glassing it into the rear side panel, but for now i just have an upfire sitting in the back and it kills |

| Re: xB2 woofer placement It was down firing and sounded good enough for me, I've been through the days of Sound Competitions and spending every paycheck on audio equipment. And I have two kids and needed the little amount of room that the 1gen has behind the rear seats.
It sounded good and it was way under powered. And I suprised a few people because of the fact that they didn't know where it was since they didn't see it in the cargo area. |

| Re: xB2 woofer placement Greg S on here has a really nice custom build he's working on for under the front seats. When he's done hopefully he'll be able to mold it and sell. Sure he'll post pics when things are done. |

| Re: xB2 woofer placement not specifically, but if you have ever heard shallow mount subs, it'll be about like that....not that loud. im telling you, when it comes to subwoofers, unless you actually don't like loud music, you will always want your system to be louder than it is. unless you are absolutely unwilling to give up any rear storage space, get something that is louder than you think you will want. otherwise, you will end up selling what you first bought and buying something bigger.
it happened to me. i went from one 12 on 400W to 2 10's on 600W to one 12 on 1200W |
