| Looking for mono amp. suggestions please Hey.. I am looking for a sub amp for my 08 XB. I have a new 12" alpine type X woofer which handles 1000w rms/ 3000w max.. I am hoping to keep the cost under $500 for the amp. I have been looking for the alpine M2000 on ebay but haven't seen one. I dont want to pay the $650 it says on alpine site. I wish someone would list one for $400 lol! I would buy it in a heartbeat. (this doesnt seem too farfetched when the PDX amps are $850 on the site, and $450 on ebay new.)
What I want is 1200 - 2000 watts at 2 ohms. I dont care about the size, it doesnt matter. I just want something that will last and with true 1200+ watts RMS.
Do any of you have this woofer? please tell me what you push it with.
Please, I am open to any suggestions.... Kicker? RF 2000BD? lol
I am kinda trying to keep it all alpine, as the door speakers/amp, woofer and HU are alpine allready.
One more question. Is the PDX 1000 watt any better than the mrp M1000? It costs twice as much, I hope that price difference isnt only for the difference in size. Size doesnt matter! Its how you use it!

| Re: Looking for mono amp. suggestions please for under 500, the only thing you'll be able to find will be like a hifonics or power acoustik.
alpie has the m2000, but its like 750
kicker's 1500 watt is 700 or so
if you had gotten the dual 2 ohm, you could have run the orion d2400. i just got one on ebay for 330 otd
why don't you just go with the alpine m1000? you can get them for under 300 (as far as i know, the only real difference is the pdx is way smaller and way cooler)
get some pictures up when you finish that sucker. i put mine under members rides, i think i should put them in here so people actually see it

| Re: Looking for mono amp. suggestions please texicali.. Definately put your pictures in this forum. Id like to see em. I haven't looked anywhere else besides this ICE forum.
I have a m1000 in my wifes yaris pushing a type R 10" (500wrms) and I feel I need more power for the type X 12(1000wrms). Yep, I got it for $270 shipped. Thats why Im hoping to find a m2000 for under $500.
I did see a m2000 online at a shop I have never heard of for $399 plus shipping. They did offer paypal, but I still am uncomfortable buying from an unknown store. I might just push my luck.
The type X is only available in dual 4 ohm. It will be wired at 2 ohm.
Thanks for the suggestions so far.

| Re: Looking for mono amp. suggestions please Dang. If they dont come out till september, I think I might just borrow the MRD M1005 amp from my truck till then. I have a feeling I might regret buying anything else besides that m2000. After all, I dont think Ill be driving my gas hog silverado much now that I have the XB. That m1005 is an awesome amp! I have it running at 1 ohm on 2 500w rms jl audio w3v3 (dual 4 ohm.) It pushes them hard and has never been hot like my m1000 gets on one 10 type R. I wish they still made that amp! I like the fans and the digital readout. I push it hard often and for long periods of time. HMMMM |

| Re: Looking for mono amp. suggestions please I can get you the Elevation Audio DX2000.1 amplifier for a great price since I am a dealer for them, seen here : Elevation Audio
Gives you exactly what you want, 1200w RMS @ 2 ohm, and leaves room if you want to add more later on ( 2000w @ 1 ohm). These products are made in the USA and amazing amplifiers. I have used several of them in my own personal vehicles and have installed 50+ and they are incredible amps. Shoot me a PM if interested. |

| Re: Looking for mono amp. suggestions please no the 1005 is not 1 ohm stable. I thought it was when I bought it, but later learned its stable 1000w at 2 ohm.. I have been bumping 1 ohm for a long time ... |

| Re: Looking for mono amp. suggestions please It is very good quality. Like I said in an earlier post, they are made here in the USA. I have installed a ton of them and never had any problems. They used to be called the 1500.1, but they were so far underrated that they changed the name to the 2000.1, since it was actually doing 2000w. Plus, the owner is a great guy. If you ever have any problems you can contact him anytime, even 2 AM, and he is more than happy to help! |

| Re: Looking for mono amp. suggestions please It's still a smaller company, but have a look around the web. Hell, even give the owner a call, he is more than happy to give you any information you could ever dream of about the products. Anyone in the Detroit/Warren area, feel free to give a listen to my car anytime. |
