| iPod connector question I just got my car with the Premium head unit, so I don't plan on changing it any time soon. However, I'm curious about the iPod and aux connectors built-in to the center console, and how they hook up to the stereo. Is it possible to upgrade to an aftermarket head unit and connect the stock iPod and aux connectors to it? |

| Re: iPod connector question Sorry, but no. At least until someone comes out with an aftermarket adapter (for each brand of stereo) |

| Re: iPod connector question Hey, i've got the premium head unit and just hooked up my ipod yesterday, and can say that i'm really happy with the unit. It's great for me. It's not the best head unit around but I like the fact that I can upgrade the speakers and everything else, and still keep the factory look, with quality sound. |

When I went to pick the car up, I heard a stereo playing and in thought I wished mine would sound half as well, well that was mine playing, I was like , I still have the original door speakers and all, and I am VERY happy with the prem. sound |

This is a pic of the premium HU, (sorry for the pic quality, taken w/ phone cam @ night) |

my understanding is that if you wanted something like that, it would have to be custom. Or you could just order the factory subwoofer. It mounts inside the rear panel on the right if I remember correctly. |

| Re: iPod connector question I haven't yet seen the factory sub for the '08 models. I'm really looking for something that fits in that area, because I don't want to sacrifice cargo space for a box, nor do I want to lose my spare. Does anyone have a picture? Does anyone have a link to the item? It's not listed on the Scion site, nor do I see it on TRDSparks. |

| Re: iPod connector question I know i've seen it posted. But I can't remember if it was here or over on scionlife. when I get a chance i'll try looking for the post. Also, if I remember correctly, it's pretty pricey, between the $300-$400 range. I'll check it out and post when I get a chance. |

| Re: iPod connector question That would be great, and to me $300-400 wouldn't be horrible for the convenience of a custom-fit system. I'm not crafty enough myself to build my own box, especially a form-fitting one, and I could probably have one made at a custom sound shop, but then I'm sure that would cost more, making this worth it. |
