I have the stock XB radio. I was driving to wal mart and the radio worked fine, I come out 10 minutes later and it wont power up. I was wondering if there is a reset button or something. I had my AC on the night before, and it started to drip out the vents due to humidity, and am wondering if this may have caused it. My problem though... Does installing a line out convertor void the warranty? If it does, I have 2 09 xb's can I just put the bad radio in my other XB which is bone stock, or will the stealership know because of the serial numbers? Any help would be appreciated.
i dont think they keep track of those numbers. however, just replacing the radio wouldnt solve the problem. you wouldhave to figure out how to make the dripping from the vent stop first.
I had a 2006 with the stock Pioneer radio for 110,000 miles and it always worked fine. The 2008 works better but I think that is because of the roof top antenna (vs the in-glass antenna of the 2006).
I would not want to lose the integrated steering wheel controls. Would an aftermarket radio allow you to use the in steering wheel controls?
A side question: Both radios have a button that says "SAT". What would I have to add to receive satellite radio?
for the most part, you would loose it. however, you can try one of these doohickeys, ...
OK. But what about the satellite? Do I have to get a new radio or is there a way to get the factory Pioneer to receive satellite? It does have two buttons that say "satellite".
