Don't know about the Q but I do know you will need around 2.5 to 3 cuft. Really have to look the specs for the sub
I think these are the same as th RE SX.

When you get that 18 hooked up, I gotta hear it!
How many watts are you gonna pump into that thing?

Re: 18 Inch Sub

1200. i just measured up the back area and its basically going to take up the entire space, but whatever. still not 100% that im getting it but if i can find someone to cut the wood so i can build the box, i think it might happen (i'm at school so i don't have all the tools like at home)

Re: 18 Inch Sub

Im sure we could figure it out here at my house. I have some tools, but nothing that makes long perfect cuts, its all freehand and never perfect! =) It could be fun.. I got a skil saw, table saw, jig saw, and chop saw. Also a couple sanders and a nailgun. But Home Depot makes long straight cuts for $.50 which isnt a bad Idea for your big panels that box requires.

Re: 18 Inch Sub

I have a portable table saw should do the trick. Not too good for cutting the full 4x8 sheet but works great on smaller pieces. Anything that will fit in the scion xb will be manageable for the table saw. Just let me know when your ready =)

First thing is this a sealed or ported box?
If sealed, not sure the FI likes a sealed box but if it is recommended do go with a 5 cuft. But if it is ported then proceed to next comment.

If it is the Q not the BTL then you will not need 5 cuft. I would not go more than 4 cuft. The BTL is the same as the RE MT. I know for a fact that the RE MT 18 works well on 5 cuft. The Q is like the RE SX from my understanding and I have run 2 SX in 8Cuft and it sounded GREAT did good numbers and hit hard!!! Just remember bigger is not always better!!!

Either way it sould be loud!!! I have 4 8" subs on 600 watts that do a 144.5 sealed on the dash and still sounds great and hits pretty hard!! No not like my 18's but still pretty loud!!!
Good Luck!!

I have a term lab meter!! That is the first step go to termpro.com spend $650.00 and buy a meter. then go to what ever org you are going to compete in and read their rules. They are different. But just about all the same when it comes to a leagel reading. they maybe off a inch in one direction or the other. Like take the meter place it on the pass side front window one org says 4" up from the bottom of the front windshield and 6" over from the "A" pillar. I think another says 6"up and 8"over and one says 3" up and 6" over. it really depends on the org you are running in. But any will get you close.

And if you are running the BL I could see 5Cubes!!

Re: 18 Inch Sub

hahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa

and for the money JL subs are worth it?????
dude, two JL 13w3's would be like $600, and only give about 11 more square inches of surface area.....(the difference b/t a 10 and 12 is about 35in^2)
the BL is gonna be $320 shipped
why is an 18 ridiculous, and two 13's not ridiculous?
