V Led 194s

Has anyone tried these in their license plate?

Just not sure if they will fit the housing.

Re: V Led 194s

Thanks for your input hotboxd. I actually ended up with the 194 superstars with metal heat sinks from autolumination. They are plenty bright and have yet to fail.

Yeah thanks..to Kevin. I wouldn't mind an even brighter set but the housing is small. I gave some 194 smt towers from Autolumination to a friend for his FJ and they are very bright.

Is that the one you got for the license plate blubs? Is it plug and play?

Re: V Led 194s

Since AUTOLUMINATION's website is stupid I'm not sure which one you are linking to. I have a set that is the 5th one down with the metal heat sinks and they have been great. It is just plug and play once you remove the inside hatch panel. It's held on by plastic clips. PM me if you need any more info.

I just ordered and Oznuim dome light 5x1.5 in blue.

I'm pretty sure it will fit. They are beyond bright. I have not replaced the map lights yet. but I imagine the 1x1.5 dome light would fit in there. They are all just plug and play.

I am going to order those sometime soon and see how they work. I have already ordered the license plate ones.

Re: V Led 194s

I just installed the Oznium ultra thin led dome- 1.5" x 5". Other than the wires being a little too long and having a little issue with hiding everything, I like them. Super bright.

That size will definitely not fit in the map lights. (I consider the map lights to be the front two push lights closer to the rear view mirror.) It was for the dome light.

You could always just cut down the wires and solder them, or probably even just tape them. Some people have even soldered the wires directly to the posts.

Re: V Led 194s

For the two map lights, I got cool white leds from Garage 1217. These are also very bright.
