Some Wiring Questions Hope Someone Can Help Me!

ARIGHT so what i want to do is get super white LEDs going down the black slots on the front bumper on the sides of my 2nd gen...kinda how the audi looks but not in the headlights....and i read somethings so i wanted to get some feedback from you guys....so i can go with single LEDs and drill holes and get it connected straight to the headlight so when i turn my lights on the LEDs turn on but not sure if i need a resistor or if i should get them hooked up to a circuit board? if anyone knows an easier way to get the single LEDs hooked up let me know!

but then i can also order 6 inch LED strips that have wiring and it says i can hook it up directly to my 12volt power source...does that mean i can hook it up to my headlight as well? or do i need to hook it up to the battery....lol dont know much about this stuff so any input would help!

Use a relay for the on/off function. You may or may not need a resistor depending on the led, the number of leds, and how you hook them up. In series would be a voltage divider and parallel would be current divider. Look up the specs for the leds you are using.

led strips would be a lot less thinking. but i would still use a relay. leds wont have a huge affect if you wire them directly, but using a relay would be safer. I would make you lights go on with your corners, not your headlights. Last thing, be sure to fuse it up!

I'm assuming you want something similar to this.

I did mine with individual LEDs. There are two vertical columns of 15 white LEDs on each false vent with a center column of 14 orange-red LEDs in the center. In the case of mine the white LEDs are wired in groups of 3 in series (+ to -) with a 150 ohm resistor and then each group is wired in parallel with each other. They are then wired to the parking light wire from the headlight above them. I agree that a relay is the best way to hook them up and am doing so as soon as I build my relay control board. For now they are wired directly and work fine but it is temporary. For the orange-red LEDs they are wired in groups of 7 in series due to the different characteristics of the LEDs.

A good link for figuring out your own wiring is here.
