| The perfect Aftermarket Head Unit? I'm looking to upgrade my sound system. I used to install huge sound systems years ago, but I want to go with a simple system. I need the space in the car and can't take it all up with boxes and amps, etc. etc.
I'm looking to change the Head Unit with one that fits perfectly in the dash opening and works perfectly with the steering wheel controls, and the ipod Jack. The unit needs to have a decent integrated amp that can drive a nice pair of aftermarket speakers in the the doors. The rear speakers might stay stock.
Any suggestions? |

| Re: The perfect Aftermarket Head Unit? Your not going to find one that works with the stock Ipod connection. The steering wheel controls are no problem seens how you can use the PAC steering wheel adapator for almost any aftermarket deck.
Do you want Nav or just a DDIN? |

| Re: The perfect Aftermarket Head Unit? Eclipse makes a line of head units that work with the factory steering wheel controls. As far as the I-pod cable, the stock one won't work anymore, but many of these aftermarket units that support the I-pod will provide their own interface cable that controls the I-pod better. Many will show the track name and the artist on the head unit's display, allowing you to put the I-pod under the seat or in the glove compartment. |

| Re: The perfect Aftermarket Head Unit? Eclipse avn52d!...this deck is pretty good for what it was made for which was to be used!..i have been using eclipse headunits since the late 90's and never had a problem with them..i still have all the headunits from back then all in working order but just changed out because i got sick of them. I have like 4 decks just collecting dust in my closet. |
