| Key-activated headlights, anyone? Has anyone changed their headlights from constant to key-activated power? I'd figure if you want the signal voltage to the headlight relay to be OFF, you'd want the current to the headlight (combination) switch to be keyed, instead of constant. Also, do you know where I can get the wiring diagram for '08 xB?
Any info along this line appreciated.

| Re: Key-activated headlights, anyone? theres a pink wire under the driver kick panel find the wire that controls the head lights, should be near the steering column. cut that wire then tap/ splice into the pink wire i mentioned. If you just tap the wire and do it right your lights will go on every time your key turns, i have it set up to turn on my halos with a key turn |

| Re: Key-activated headlights, anyone? I want to make it so when you turn the key on it runs the headlight switch. For example on the tC. If you leave the lights on, turn the key off they shut off. then you can turn them back on if need be, be turning the switch off and then back on. |

X2, I'd still want to control them. What if your just listening to the radio, I wouldn't want the lights on running down the battery. |

| Re: Key-activated headlights, anyone? I would like my lites to go on and off with a sensor found DEI 545T Nite-Lite system - on Amazon for $29.90.
Automatically activates headlight and parking lights when driving in darkness
Turns lights on when windshield wipers are in use
Adjustable turn-off delay
Includes photocell, relays and bypass switch.
Thinking of buying this - anybody install this? Can you help with wiring?
thanks |

thanks | I did a search and I found a good thread about the unit you mention, It's a Nissan thread, but they actually talk more about the device than their brand DEI 545t auto headlight system: Rogue Forum: Nissan Forums / Infiniti Forums - NICOclub Quote:

Normal operations:
Daytime running lights (deactivatable)
Turn on lights in darkness, (3 second delay, 30 seconds delay to de activate)
Turn on lights when wipers come on.
Personally I'm going to rig it to turn on my parking lights as daytime lights and standard from there. I'm hopeing in the spring to pick up the Enzo lights from NoLimitz and rig the halos to come on with parking lights (Halos will be on all the time with this device enabled).

| Re: Key-activated headlights, anyone? You guys seem to want domething more complicated, but if you want to avoid accidentally leaving the headlights on when locking and leaving the car. You can use the output from the key-in-ignition sense switch to enable (key present) or disable (key absent) the main and high beam power. If for some reason you want the headlight to come on when you turn on the ignition, then just leave the light switch on. |

Thanks! | The device is generic, it should be able to be wired into pretty much anything... (links are in the posts) |
