Headunit/Amp help!

So the deal is I have a 2009 Black Sand Pearl xB, and I have two 12' Infinity 1252w Reference series subs, that are ampless. Also I just found out that the stock head unit I have dont have sub outputs, which is retarted but whatever I want a new one anyways. But i need some help finding an amp but honestly im not to good/familiar with this shit. The subs have a 1252 watt peak and 300 RMS for each sub, I believe that are 4 ohm's each (whatever all that means.. ) Anyways my price range is about 600 all together for the headunit and amp. I know amps cost a shit load but yeah, im kinda broke. I was looking a the Jensen UV8020 headunit, anyone got some feed back on that one? Please help me cause i want my audio done and bumpin! Thanks Chode

Re: Headunit/Amp help!

You should look what the power is at 2 ohms. That way you can put them in parallel and run two 4-ohm subs at a 2-ohm shared load. This basically means more power to your subs.

Building on a small budget can be difficult, but just make sure you choose carefully and don't skimp on things like quality power and audio cables. You don't want to end up rebuilding this thing multiple times to get it to sound right.

Re: Headunit/Amp help!

In my 06 GTI I spliced into the rear factory speaker outs into a amp that had speaker level ins, also the amp would sense the voltage and turned on by itself and didn't need a seperate turn on wire. I adjusted the deck to play very little bass and cranked the amp up and used the amp adjustments to shape bass sound. I believe there are a few amps that have the auto turn on now. No line out converters or turn on wires are need this way.

Example: MTX Elite 601d
