BackUp Camera

My friend has a newer jeep, when she puts it in Reverse her backup camera comes up on her gps screen and shows her everything behind her..is there a system compatible with the 08xbs that will do this?

Re: BackUp Camera

I made some inquiries and all I got was strange looks. I am not giving up, this sounds like a fun thing to have.

God bless

Re: BackUp Camera

you would need some type of screen for a backup camera to work, either add a standard screen or have a navigation type head unit with a backup cam output. ive got the pioneer avic d3 unit that has that, all I have to do is wire up the backup option and when I put the car in reverse the camera comes on. this is like many of the stock toyotas that come with navi and backup cam, like lexus and some camrys and avalons have this

Re: BackUp Camera

I bought the Scion Nav. While I was hooking it up I noticed an option for a back up cam, perfect bc the screen is nice and big. Ill be hooking one up soon. Btw if you dont want to spend $1800 for it from the dealer check eBay, I got mine for $1000, still pricey I know but $800 better...

Where do you plan on mounting your back up camera? I want to do a back up camera for my nav but I haven't been able to decide were to mount it. I seen were the rear wiper is but I have no idea if its a water tight seal they are getting when they do it like that.

Re: BackUp Camera

get something like this:
MobileVideo4Less.com: License Plate Add-On Color Camera Fits ANY Car!
these are easy to install, i used to put them in all the time. i have a similar one in my suburban, going to my headunit. i'm waiting for some cash to get the audio started on my box. if you guys want one let me know i'll ask some of my friends that distribute car audio for prices

Re: BackUp Camera

Most back up cameras have a little rubber seal on them so you dont need to worry about water . i mounted mine where my wiperblade used to be, fits like a glove .

I've seen the wiper mounted ones, but I don't want to give up my wiper!!!

Just purchased a 2010 xB and was thinking about adding the backup to my Alpine HU but...500 bucks? YEAH RIIIIIIGHT.

I think I'm going the aftermarket way pretty soon hahahah!
