AVH-P4000DVD HU Upgrade

Since I have a Pioneer AVIC-S2 for navigation, I wanted to perform a mild upgrade my stock Premium Pioneer HU to this:

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...s/AVH-P4000DVD

I am also looking for the necessary items required to utilize my stock steering controls & iPod/Aux connections if applicable. Any personal experience with this HU would also be appreciated.

Re: AVH-P4000DVD HU Upgrade

I was looking into it for myself on crutchfield.com the radio is reasonably priced but to add of the accessories you will pay a pretty penny:
IPod Cable: $30
Bluetooth adapter: 180
Wireless Remote: $20
Aux Input adapter: $30
Steering Wheel Control: $70
Various Mounting Equipment: $50

However the radio is only 500 bucks, so if you factor it all in vs. the dealership installed DVD you still come out ahead.

Re: AVH-P4000DVD HU Upgrade

We I got the AVH-P4000. It is a fantastic upgrade altough not as equipped as some of Pioneers other models. I built a complete custom subwoofer enclosure in the back that sits over the spare tire cover but still allows the tire to come out. The enclosure consists of (2) 1.1cu ft boxes w/ 3" ports @ 4.5" long, polyfilled.

So far my mini system includes:

Pioneer AVH-P4000DVD HU
Pioneer TS-A1702 6.5" driver/tweeter component set front
Pioneer TS-A1702 6.5" driver/tweeter component set rear
Pioneer TS-W257D2 10" Champion 2ohm DVC subs
Kenwood KAC-8404 4-channel
Kenwood KAC-8104 Mono channel (2ohm load to power subs)
Tsunami AMP48-CAP 1.2 capacitor kit

I will be installing the cap kit this weekend and will post pics once I get everything installed...

Re: AVH-P4000DVD HU Upgrade

Just wondering how everyone one split the 4 output RCA's. Especially when integrating a sub. Do you have a seperate sub amp w/ pass through RCA's?

eDead came today ! WooHoo
Got it all off eBay. Got a 15% discount from PayPal when I got the AVH.
I contacted Crutchfield and got the best info for what I needed, then I hit up Price Grabber for a better price, but I ended up going to eBay. I get the majority of all my stuff off eBay...at least I check there first.
