| AC Vent air flow when off Is there a vent I can close or shut off to stop air flow when the ac is off and set to Zero.
I have a 2010 Scion XB, got it back in August. When I get on the freeway 40mph up, a powerful cool breeze comes out from the vent with the controls being off. I know this is normal to happen as i experience with one of my previous vehicles. The amount of air that comes in is too powerful, the same as when I am stopped and the AC is on speed 1.
I live in New York and it gets cold here. I am worried that when it's really cold out the amount of air from outside that comes in will overpower the heat, as it used to do on my beat up 1996 dodge caravan from 4 years ago.
Is anybody else experiencing the same amount of air coming in trough the vents when driving on the freeway with their ac/heating unit off and the fan on zero? |

I don't remember reading anything about it on the manual, then again i read it the same day i got the car and have not looked at it again.
But basing on my previous cars, my 1996 dodge caravan I got some air coming in, but it was an old Van that had been in front collision accident.
My 2002 dodge caravan I got no noticeable air flow
now my 2010 Scion XB the air flow is so much that you can feel the freeze on your face. the faster i drive the more air comes in. |

| Re: AC Vent air flow when off Here is your dash:
In the center of the air direction knob ( left knob) is the recirculation button. Pushing that button cuts off the airflow coming into the vehicle (It should light up when depressed). Be aware that keeping it closed for long periods may cause your windshield to fog up a little, but just switch your direction switch to the "Defog" position and you'll be okay.
Edit: Curse you, Aaron!!

| Thank you for the image, I get air flow with the fan control at zero and the a/c light off
Only when I am hitting speed of 40 ,50, 60 and up
The air circulation button is set to max a/c light off
fan control zero
air flow control to the option on the image, front vent.
Maybe, i should have this check,, i made some google search and i came across other forums with people experiencing the same on their 2009 Toyota Corolla.
Thank you,, Thank you... That was what i was missing..
Thank you also for the pointer. Quote:
