| TRD Shift Knob..HELP please!? Hey Everyone!
I had a question regarding the TRD shift knob. I have a manual 2008 scion xb, and I ordered the TRD leather wrapped shift knob. My question is that when I removed the stock rubber black knob, there is a white plastic part that holds the boot to the shift lever.
Normally I wouldn't mind it, but when I screw in my new TRD shift knob, the white plastic part still shows. It kinda bugs me, and and I wondering what can be done about this...if any...
Please help?

| Re: TRD Shift Knob..HELP please!? Hey mikeytomas, I had the same problem when I installed my shift knob. You can take off the shifter panel and remove the boot. Then pull off the white plastic piece and paint it. It's on there pretty tight so you're gonna have to tug on it hard, but it'll come off. Heres a pic of mine. Make sure you put you hand on top of the knob while tugging so you don't mess up the shifter. |

Then 3 light coats of top coat was applied and buffed to a desired shine. |

Just by looking at the pics you should be able to figure out how I did it.
The first pic is an old silk shirt where I cut the fabric from. |

Mike | This is the second time I've responded to this question, and it's probably the last. I just allowed the boot to cover the white plastic. To each their own, of course, but it works for me ! |
