Thank You. I used Rust-oleum Painters Touch Gloss Deep Blue (Ultra Cover) (Indoor/Outdoor) with their Clear Coat. I got it from Home Depot. I bought two spray cans and 1 clear coat can for like $11. I ended up only using 1 spray can and a clear coat.

The only reason i didn't use krylon fusion is because I couldn't get the right color. Rust-oleum had the closest color without spending like $20 on a can of spray paint. Note: The spray paint I bought did not say plastic but it looks like it did its job.

It was very easy. Just unscrew the screw and grab it and pull up but not too hard. Cause I know you don't want to end up braking one. All of it was easy to remove but the hard part is being gentle and getting the pieces off. You know what I mean?

They are Coverking Neoprene Seat Covers. I bought them at JC Whitney. I'm pretty sure they do make them for Gen 1. I think, I paid under $500. I love them, they give a great and tight fit look while giving a very soft and coushy feeling.

I've taken apart every dash in every car I've had so far. AND - my 2nd gen had to be the easiest car EVER to take apart. The wierdest parts were the steering wheel pieces and the ring on the right. Disconnecting the airbags and sh**. I've never sweat so hard. NERVE RACKING!!!

I wanted to paint some more pieces but i couldn't cause i did not want to mess with the airbags. I had no idea how to turn them off.

Hopefully i won't screw anything up! How long did it take for the paint to dry?also, did it leave that strong spray paint scent?

It took about a day to fully dry and to be touched. It does leave a scent but I'm sure that it will die down soon. Also, Make sure you give the parts a couple coats and a clear coat. Goodluck!

Re: Painted

when I did mine, it took a full day! for all the pieces... I actually have to do my steering wheel and right ring soon. I took it apart to get the hang of it but never painted it.

I did a couple of coats and a clear coat!

I have been taking my xb apart all night and cannot find a way to get the right ring out? Any ideas?

Re: Painted

disconnect the neg. on the battery, take the glove box out, look up and un screw the bolt and nut holding the air bag together and wala!!!! take the peice out, apply paint and reverse.

I'm in the middle of taking apart the stock radio, change the leds, and painting the black and grey colors to whatever I decide on, ... the leds are the hardest part, LOL!!! ... and even that, isn't really that difficult!
