| Re: Let's See Your Gauges These are straight up BRIGHT!!!!! They're translucent! I had white LED's behind it but my whole paint scheme was GREEN so I switched em out.
I've been messin with clear acrylics to try n get the entire circle to light up by molding the factory "light diffuser" (the clear plastic behind the gauge template) to an acrylic template shaped like the gauge, but I dont want to ruin my stock piece. So, I've made a silicone mold of it, and I have some clear casting resin....I have my work cut out for me!!!!!!!!! |

| Re: Let's See Your Gauges Hey, these gauge customizations are damn cool. Im new to the Scion, in fact im buying an 09 xb on Monday. The guy im buying from customized some of the interior, mainly with lights n the gauges. He told me the rpm's dont work right because of how he put the gauges back on. he said its an easy fix though. Does anyone have any idea what im talking about? Sorry if there is a thread for this I couldnt find it. |

| Re: Let's See Your Gauges I would just remove the tach needle and with the car off, push the needle back on with the same positioning as the rest of the needles...that ought to get you pretty close...I can get you an RPM wind shield projector!!! My distributors are trying to get me in on it but I could care less what my RMS's are. It is cool though. It projects a digital read out on windshield for the driver to see!
I sell the gauges that way. It gives a brilliant illumination both day & night. The white LED's make the dash look like a million bucks! It just looks rich!!! I've done alot of LED installs for people and I think its easy but they are very tiny and you have to be careful not to overheat and damage the circuit board or the LED. If you have patience and a steady hand its not that hard.

| Re: Let's See Your Gauges well i ended up buying a 2010 brand new. Today i took apart the dash a bit. Actually just the gauge cluster part. I unplugged the 2 connector pieces and had the gl;ass removed, but then i didnt know what to do after that. I'd like to change the leds and the picture paper layer, but i dont know how. Does anyone know of anyone that sells just plug it in stuff. haha I'm not too car savy, So i dont wanna mess anything up. However, im good at following step by step tutorials with video/pictures, so if there are links for those that'd be awesome. If you gauges come easy to install with the windshield rpm's i'd probably buy one. Let me know. thanks |
