Talking Or she could just read this thread

I tend to get most of mine from Oznium.com.

Where do you want to put the light?

Ok, underglow first; neon or LED?
(I have both.)
Neon: I personally think it looks better with a nicer more even glow.
Drawbacks: its only one color, has no patterns, and is much more prone to breakage.
If you choose neon Pilot has a set that’s hella bright.
One of our club members has it in green:

Blurry, but here you can see his ride compared to average neon sets:

LED: Most folks will tell you this is better. I just have a cheap Pepboys special myself. If you’re on a budget it works.
If you’re going higher end here are some features to look for: how many different patterns, color combos, ability to respond to music, can gang multiple components together (ie tire wells & interior), and a remote control. I’ve heard good things about varad (http://www.varad.com/v4/) and the FlowLighting Inferno from Oznium.com. I’m sure there are plenty of other good options out there & folks who have them will chime in soon.

Dome light: switch to LED & forget the crap at Pepboys.
Check this thread:
http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f60/11217-led-dome-light/

Interior:
I don’t use them myself, but I’ve heard a number of folks use cold cathodes made for CPUs to light their footwells. If you search around the threads you should find more info.
(I just don’t recommend using them in the handholds in the roof. I keep picturing someone grabbing them and coming away with a handful of broken glass.)

Again I’m a real fan of Oznium especially their prewired LEDs. Used with bezels the 3 & 5mm LEDs can be fairly discreet in cupholders, handles, the glovebox -- all those little spots. For a bigger bang try their prewired superflux 4-chip. (I actually use these in my headlights shown blue above.) I also just ordered their new chrome LED modules. They’re bright & not bad to look at either.

Also, here’s some DIYs to check:
Adding LED’s to the vents:
http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f19/11587-vent-led-diy/
Changing out the climate controls:
http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f19/424...-no-soldering/

Hope that helps you start out!

Re: LED help

Neons from ebay are the cheapest at around $50 shipped. Underbody Led's: buy from someone you can get a warranty from in case some of the led's go out. Led's can do more tricks thou and are worth the extra expense if you want flashy. Just watch for the lights pooling at the bottom of the cheaper ones, it will look like dots on the road.

^what he said.

If you’re really strapped for cash get the E-bay neon special, but it isn’t as flashy and won’t survive as long.

LEDs are way more fun!

Beware the cheap LED kit though. Cheap kits won’t have nearly as powerful LEDs and there will be fewer of them spaced farther apart. This will make the light spread much weaker and less even, ie “dots on the road.”

No worries, everyone’s new at some point!
(Btw it was scvscions who did most of my installs, I know a bit about different products, but still have a lot to learn about wiring )
