| Well this just sucks... Makes me wanna say "Bah Humbug"! After having a nice Christmas this has to happen...
Turns out someone got a hold of our bank account number and it somehow ended up in Russia or Romania. There were 3 withdrawls from our account and good thing my fiance was doing bills last night cuz that's when he pulled the statement and saw them. Our debit card is frozen and this is under investigation so we have to use cash or write checks for now.
I am so stressed about it cuz I'm not working, we have rent coming up and I just want to kill that person who took our number! Now instead of spending my Xmas money I got, I have to put in the bank.
I'm so mad right now and I hope that I find a job soon so we don't feel so budgeted with everything.
I hope everyone had a better holiday and make sure you check your statements just in case cuz you never know. |

| Yeah, card fraud sucks and it happens way more often than you think. Hopefully, your bank is protected and can reimburse you for the missing money.
When I worked in the Parts Dept. here we would get regular "calls" (actually it was some form of internet-phone-relay connection BS) from Nigeria or somewhere wanting to buy lots of Toyota starters and A/C compressors. One time we went as far as to get a payment from the guy (before we ordered any parts) and he gave us 13 cc#s. ALL of the numbers traced back to various states in the US. We reported the whole thing to Visa or whatever and never heard from the guy again.
Again, I hope everything works out for you!

Try not to stress about it (easier said than done), you should come out on top when the dust clears. It's just unfortunate that this happened to you all at this time. I hope they catch the rotten SOB's. |

| Thanks, guys! I know there is nothing we can do at this point except wait for the paperwork to file the claim so they know we didn't make those withdrawls. We will eventually get the money back after it's all over, so for now we just have to watch things for a bit.
The rep said that it's not just people going through your garbage to find receipts or going online, but it could have been an inside job somewhere where the account numbers database is held. I guess that database is not really that secure and people have retrieved numbers from there and sell it to other countries such as Russia or Romania (like ours). I'm not sure, but they got it and it ended up somewhere else.
It just makes me mad that people will do anything for a buck even if it means stealing from innocent people. |

I just wish I can bring in the new year on a happier note, you know. I'm still job searching and am waiting for Michelle's work to call me back today(I went there last Thursday and filled out an application).
Thanks again! |

| Tammie,
Sorry to hear this. It takes a while to get something like this cleared up.
First thing, make a Police report and report number.
After you get the report number, take it to your bank and make sure they write a letter to you also stating the fraud. Keep copies of the letter, and send them out to the appropriate people/companies should any other incidents come up and you need to clear your SSN and CDL also.
If you need anything, let me know before 03Jan06. Othger wise, answering email and posting will be on hold for a few months. |

Russian Vodka = good Romanian Vodka = ???
Maybe we can bring back a gymnast or something, they make those pretty well in Romania, right? Or maybe a Vampire? That could be an entertaining mod... |

And thanks everyone for your support, I know it happens to everyone and this is the first time it happened to us. I am just a little stressed, but know it will get taken care of soon. |

| Sorry to hear about that stuff happening to you girl. I gfot a funny one about cc fraud. So I was going through my check book and statements jsut to bring it all up to par right. Then I noticed a 39.99 charge was on the past three BS that I recieved. I guess I thought it was for gas or something right. I look at the name of the company and it says internet ventures. I'm like "What the hell is this??" So I jump online to do some research, and the place ends up beeing the Hustler website. I never even fathomed of doing anything like this, so I started to think back when the charges started. It ends up that my olsd roommate stole my cc while I was in the shower logged on, used my cc to get registered, then put it back in my wallet before I even knew. I ended up beating the living crap out of him, calling the police the next day, and thowing all of his crap on to the street, which happens to be a very busy street in Riverside. So by the time he got back from jail, all of his stuff was out of the house, and most of the stuff that I put on the street was gone. |

If he was, its an unjust eviction. Once someone has stayed in a residence for consecutive days, it is considered as established residency whether or not they are on the lease or not. At least in the state of CA.
If you actually did have a physical altercation w/ this person, and "ended up beating the living crap out of him", how come he didn't press charges against you for Battery - 242 PC?
Also, he can sue you in civil court for losses he incurred when you tossed out his belongings. Also part of the unjust eviction.
Thankfully, he either didn't have a lawyer, or not a very smart one. |

Well, it turned out that he had a couple of warrants, so they processed him. He said he didn't press charges because he didn't want to deal with the whole thing either. About the lease, there was no lease. We lived month to month with the landlord per her agreement. Second of all, I got kicked out the day after al this shit went down, because of the violence. And I didn't beat him to almost death either. What the hell is up with everyone critizing the posts here. This is becoming Scionlife all over again. If you want to battle someone, I think you have someone to do that with per a diff thread. Don't think like a cop when you're on this board, think like a scion xB owner. |
