Billy and Cliff thank you SO MUCH! James, I'll email you tonight.
I talked to Melissa today, this was the first time she's sounded like things were really wearing on her. She had an MRI today to see how much/if the chemo and proton regimen is shrinking the tumors, results next week. I was skeptical about the Lupus test her doctors did, it seemed a bit unnecessary when money was so tight, but sometimes you have to trust the professionals, it was positive. Most likely an underlying condition that was exasperated by the other things going on. From what I hear it's pretty manageable these days under optimal conditions, but conditions aren't that great right now. Not sure what else to say other than hopefully things are darkest just before the dawn.
On a more positive tip I started working on a Christmas present I'm making for her. I'm going to print off the names of everyone who has helped and the pictures of the stickers on people's rides and try to put them together in like a collage and find a nice frame for it. Part tribute to you guys and part reminder for her that she's not alone, sound corny? | |

| Re: Helping out someone with cancer please read! Hey I hope everyone is having a good holiday, great to see the car back in action so quick Marcos!. I put this up on the website tonight, if you have an or so to kill reading my rambling lol
I have no idea really why I started this blog, if you go back and look at the first post it says it was just because I was bored. It was never meant for anyone but my friends and I, but why a blog? I’m not an extrovert and certainly not an expert on anything I post. I have no explaination why or how people started visiting it, I never advertised it but here we are 425,000 hits later.
Now I see there actually was a reason why, and it’s what I’m thankful for this holiday. You guys. I’ve met the most amazing people, made some great friends, and realized I’m not the only one who looks at this whole “car scene” a little differently. But most of all, The Melissa Project. It could have never happened without the blog, the mysterious traffic, and of course you guys. I’ve always considered myself spiritual and moral, but not necessarily religous, but The Melissa Project has worked so well and done so much I start to wonder if maybe there was some unconscious “something” guiding things that night I was bored and thought “hey I’ll start a blog”.
This Thanksgiving I’m most thankful for you guys, all you wonderful generous people who bought a sticker. Thankful for Cliff, Billy and EZ Baked Customs, James, Sakura, Club xB, Yoshitomo and Weshill Motorsports, Duke, Slappy and Slide Asylum, Karsten, Paul, Dave and Stance is Everything, Sal and PowerZamCam, Marcos, Yuki, Eric, Todd, Charles, Mike, AJ,Tony, and so many more I could go on and on.
Thankful the world hasn’t completely lost it’s soul like I thought it had before all this, thankful you all helped me do what I thought would be impossible. Thankful for what we accomplished with the deck stacked completely against us. Thankful. |
