low dollar mods and No dollar mods

alright, I think it'd be a good idea to start a thread for some low or even no dollar mods. whether its interior or exterior, whatever you're into.

Got a sweet brake light mod to throw out there:
472 Scion xB Gen 2 3rd Brake Light Overlay Sticker

also, Im a huge fan of removing the A-Pillar tape on most models. I have a BSP movdel xB2, so there really is no point in me doing it, but on Super White or Hypnotic Teal, I think it looks killer. the one thing with this is, make sure you like it, cause I hear its expensive to put that back on!

if there is already a thread like this, sorry, but the search function didnt pull anything when I looked!

I'm rebadging the emblem on the front grill from Scion to Toyota. $1.00 for 5x5" piece of ABS plastic, $5 sandpaper, some plastic weld and paint.

A note to xB2 owners, don't even consider removing the tape from your A pillars without seriously investigating the resulting appearance -- and this goes X10 for owners of light colored verhicles (SW especially). If it definitely works with the look you're going for, then by all means -- otherwise, be damned careful about it.

Re: low dollar mods and No dollar mods

The only mods I have done are low dollar (I'm Broke!!). But I have cleared my headlights (grab and smash method), done independent fogs DIY: Independent OEM fog lights. , and the velcro to rear floor mat

Ignore the 1st page (it went way off topic - damn noobs), but the attachments on starting on page 2 will show comparison pictures of tape vs. no tape.

Re: low dollar mods and No dollar mods

My low budget mod with the biggest result was I tinted my tails, reverse light, and side turn signals. Other cheap mods I have done: I painted my brake calipers red, blacked out behind the upper grill, I installed two garage door opener mods in the center console and installed a third brake light overlay.

Re: low dollar mods and No dollar mods

I bought the 3rd brake overlay sticker that goes on the inside of the rear window. I got the dragon one.....not too happy with it. It is smaller than what I thought would be and therefore it is hard to even tell what it is when you step on the brakes.

My other option I was going to get was the "Back Off" sticker, but I thought with all of the crazy drivers and road rage I may piss off the wrong person and end up getting shot or something.

I bought the one that installed on the inside of the glass too. I think the install looks cleaner than the one that installs on the outside. I bought the SCION overlay. It looks pretty good, good enough that I installed one on my daughters XB too!

Did mine over the weekend. Used the G2 epoxy paint kit. Gave all four calipers two coats and still had plenty left over. Paid $37.99 for the kit, including shipping.

Other low cost (less than $100 mods) I've done:

Sharkfin Antenna - Absolutely Red ($69.00 + $12.00 shipping)
Momo Combat EVO Shift Knob Red/Black ($81.00 shipped)
Wheelskins Eurotone Leather Steering Wheel Cover - Red/Black ($42.99 shipped)
Redline Leather Shift Boot and Emergency Brake Boot - Red/Black ($72.55 shipped)
Blackout Paint Behind Front Grill ($7.19 for a can of Rustoleum High Heat Ultra Satin Black spray paint - half a can left)
