| Wrong forum please delete! Looks like I posted in the wrong sub-forum (keyed off of xB Exterior), so I've reposted in the General Forum. Sorry about that!

| Anybody know of a source for door sill and mud guards? I just got a 2008 xB this week, and I've installed a few accessories, but two items seem to be difficult to find (hopefully it's just me.)
I like the illuminated sill guards, but roughly $156 just for sill guards isn't exactly what I had in mind (I don't need the illumination!) Has anyone run across something a little more basic, and hopefully guards for the rear doors as well?
The other item is probably one that isn't super popular, but I personally find them very practical. Has anybody come across mudguards for the 2008 xB? The problem is simply that the wheels can kick up stones and other debris (winter salt for instance) and throw it at body panels. A mud guard at the back of each wheel well would prevent that from being a problem. I asked at the dealership today, but they weren't able to recommend anything (ie -- Toyota doesn't sell mud guards for the 2008 xB.)
Any ideas on these two items? |

| Re: Anybody know of a source for door sill and mud guards? I don't see anything on eBay. In any case, items can only be sold on eBay if someone is manufacturing them (unless it's another ebay scam.) I'd prefer to first identify a manufacturer and/or retailer, rather that open the doors to an eBay scam artist. |

From reading though his thread, he never had sill guards and it appears the mud/splash guards are already sold. I didn't realize the 2004-2006 xB had mud guards available! Unfortunately, I've yet to identify any for the 2008 model.
Just learned a modified version of the new xB has been introduced in Japan as the Toyota Rumion -- and it has optional mudguards! So if Toyota is manufacturing them now, you'd think they'd trickle through for the US market as well! http://www.autoblog.com/2007/10/09/x...orolla-rumion/ http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=206662 |

Now, exactly how does your collection of eBay links solve my problem? | I suppose it doesn't. Unless you decide you'd like illumination for the two front sills.
G/L findin' what you're lookin for! |

G/L findin' what you're lookin for! | Well, just a suggestion, if you actually read what a person was asking before jumping in with a smartass correction to one of my earlier responses regarding eBay ("Did you look on eBay? OEM:"), you would be much more likely to be not wasting your time as well as somebody elses. I can get the standard Scion xB illuminated doorsills from many locations, not just eBay. Even if I wanted illuminated sill guards (and my opening post says I don't), then it still wouldn't solve the problem for the rear two doors!
If you can't be bothered to read, then better not to post! |

| Re: Looking for sources for sill protectors and mud guards! Yaris Hatch mud flaps fit almost perfect, on the fronts you will only need to trim some off of the bottom inside because they hit the pinch welb under the side skirt. And the rears extend about a half inch past the bottom of the bumper. I test fit them from a yaris i worked on last week. I will be getting a set as soon as my wife gets a job. eBay has them for around $50 |
