| Re: noob question abt lowerin a box Depends on how low you go. The lower you are, the more careful you have to drive. If you go down 1"-1.5" you shouldn't have to change your driving habits too much. Just keep an eye out for crazy driveways (prob not a problem out there), and roads under construction. |

| Re: noob question abt lowerin a box like what was said as long as you stay above 2 inches of drop you should be ok. I am looking to do this soon (hopefully by the end of the summer) and I live with some of the worst street conditions I have ever seen but i have had cars lower than my box and they never had any issues |

| Re: noob question abt lowerin a box Hey volcomxbgirl! Just my 3 and 1/2 cents worth (inflation ). I got the Tanabe NF210 springs on about a week and a half ago and feared really messing up my beautiful bottom. Happy to report with many a speed bump and potholes (Boston MA. area) No casualties! The front bumper is only about an inch lower than stock. Just have to watch curbs and parking area cement blocks, or stops, on the lowest part of the bumper. Really is perfect for what you described.
The back is only a tiny bit lower than the TRD's and the springs are much cheaper. The look is classy and sassy and a lot of people started taking notice of my car.
Just thought I'd throw it out there to you All my best in your decision.

| Re: noob question abt lowerin a box I have a ton of speed bumps in my town home complex so I actually went out to the worst one and measured how much room I would have after a lower. If I go slow its ok! |

| Re: noob question abt lowerin a box I, too, have concerns about lowering my new xB. TRDs seem like the safe bet. Does anyone have the TRDs with a 17 or 18 wheel that would like to share his/her opinion on ride comfort and handling?
Also, (and this is probably the silliest question of the day), does a TRD lowered xB still fit through a car wash? Before too much laughter, the reason I ask is to avoid repeating a rather embarrassing situation with a lowered PT Cruiser, and the fact that I am just lazy enough to not want to wash my car by hand in the dead of winter.
Thanks for any and all help. |

| Re: noob question abt lowerin a box I visited Indiana and all I remember was how flat everything was. if I run the Tanabe NF210 springs here with no problem, Indy should be easy to move around. lol |

| Re: noob question abt lowerin a box Thanks for the reply.
Yes, indeed, Indy is flat. However, and I experienced this in the lowered PT, as well, the amount and severity of potholes, chuckholes, whatever you call them, are terrible. That, and then the exact opposite at the same time, pavement "heave" where the seams will rise up until you have a 4 lane wide speed bump that will loosen your fillings, and the potholes can really tear up your rims.
How would those Tanabes look with a 17 inch wheel, and I'm thinking 225/45/17? Similar to the TRDs or better/worse? Ride quality?
I'm a noob to this xB animal, since mine is only 2 weeks old, so any advice is much appreciated.
