Do I need a cambre kit?

One of my coworkers that is really into tricking things out told me to get a
camber kit?
Do I need one for a xB and if so who makes one for the box?

It really depends on your suspension set-up and what type of rims/tires you're running. Additional information would really help you in receiving an answer.

Are you rubbing? If not then no. Remember some people just like to modify things because they can, no for a real reason.

No one makes any for the 2nd gen, yet.

Re: Do I need a cambre kit?

I'm going with Ns210 springs and Hotchkis sway bars, front and back.
Wheels I want to get the Axis Wide Track wheels in 18's love to have 19's but
I don't what to worry about rubbing.
Should I change my struts also and try to find a camber kit?
Will this comb work on the box?

Re: Do I need a cambre kit?

If you are going with NS210 don't even worry about camber kits or different struts. You won't rub unless you have a very crazy low offset and fat people in the back while hitting a speed bump.

Re: Do I need a cambre kit?

Hmmm.

Im surprised this thread didnt continue:

Camber bolts are need to adjust the suspension after lowering with TRD, Tanabe, Tien, Hotchkis, etc springs. When you replace your spring with a "smaller" one, the tires will appear to be angled inward towards the top... like you see on the BMW X3/5 and many lowered vehicles. Is prominent in independent suspensions.

When I lowered my xB with TRD springs, I had to get an alignment which required the 1.75 degree camber bolts for the front. The rear aligned within adjustment. You can no longer reuse them or at least a shop will not reinstall and thus new ones are needed anytime you adjust camber. (2) sets of camber bolts can be used to adjust camber +/- 3.5 degrees if your application requires such.

Proper camber establishes the tire tread properly to the road to insure even and consistent tire wear. You will notice balding on the inner corner of your tires with insufficient camber after lowering with springs. Since a set is about $20.00, this is a negligible price to pay vs premature tire wear and proper traction...

It's a 4X4 expression I think. I'll keep watching Trucks on Spike to see if they mention it.

Re: Do I need a cambre kit?

lol...i think its the other dimensions of suspension that cause more wear and so one..but to much camber can f- ish up.

Re: Do I need a cambre kit?

yeah, also depends on if it is your daily driver/show car. i purchased someones project years ago and had hella negative camber...needless to say i blew a tire and the shop refused to replace just 2 as it were too unsafe for me to drive on the rest.

so 700 dollars later, i had new tires and everything, then came a 100 dollar camber kit, and a 200 dollar install.

so, its all up to you how much you want to spend, or drop the ride. its much easier to tuck wheels with negative camber if you are riding on air
