anyways, I am sure a CAI for 2nd gen is already out, just get the short one. | Short-ram intakes aren't CAI, they're HAI that suck the hottest air from right under the hood behind the radiator. |

| Re: What kind of gas mileage are people getting? You can reset the average mileage (and I would assume the other averages as well) the same way you would reset your trip computer. When the screen is displaying the option you want to reset, just hold in the button until it resets. |

| Re: What kind of gas mileage are people getting? Just got my first fill-up and came to find that I am averaging 22.5mpg I hope after the break in period I will be getting more. I had an 06 Tc and never got less than 26mpg...I need to drive a little more conservatively because 22.5 is just horrible Well, maybe when I get my CAI in the future it will help me get close to 30mpg |

| Re: What kind of gas mileage are people getting? My first 2 fill-ups got me 22.3 and 23.4 (24.x according to computer). I suppose this is a good sign that things will get better. I make a lot of shorter trips and my freeway driving is usually in traffic. When I did get on open road I saw the computer average 30+ mpg. I'm still well under 1000 miles so I'm holding out hope for a little better mileage in the future. |

I have a 05 xB, I just got it last week used from a dealer, very good shape, was sold with the 18" wheels already on it, what kind of mileage do you think this xB would get with stock wheels? over 30? |

| Re: What kind of gas mileage are people getting? I'm getting 24-27 MPG. Average is 25 MPG, based on measuring miles traveled and gallons fillied at the pump. Max mileage is about 27.5; worst was 23. Most of my traveling is 45 MPH city or 70 MPH highway, about 60% highway traveling. On trip from Phoenix to LA, got 24.5 going and 26 returning, averaging about 75 MPH most of the way. The avg mileage indicator is optimistic by about anywhere from 4-6 MPG versus the calculated mileage on fillups. I'm looking for suggestions to increase mileages. Wish Scion had put a 6 speed manual in the car as it turns 3000 rpm @ 72 MPH. It they had another gear to chop the engine speed by about 15%, it would be getting Camry like mileage. BTW, have 5k miles on car. It's well broken in.

| Re: What kind of gas mileage are people getting? I'm averaging 32 mpg. Five speed '08, with 9K miles. That's city and highway combined in all sorts of conditions. I've found mpg drops at 75 mph compared to 65. It's easy to use the trip computer to monitor this.
Overall, I'm on the upper end of what people are getting, but that's driving carefully and shifting typically in the low 2000 range. It would be easier to have a heavier foot and then drop into the mid-high 20s like most everyone else. |
