I have a 2008 automatic scion xb and what exactly is the sequential part of my transmission? It allows me to shift without the clutch, right? I wanted to try and use it for fun and learn stick but I don't wanna mess up my car on accident. I heard that it will shift for you if you don't do it in time. is that true? I just want my scion to be up and running! haha.

lol mine will not shift from 1st to 2ed unless i click it foward.... but 2 to 3 and 3 to 4 it shifts automatly.... notic that when you click it over to shift manually if engagess into the grear at lover RPM.... so you can take off faster

Your never going to learn how to drive a manual car by using an automatic transmittion. Their not even close.

You can't over rev the engine or anything because it will shift if you hit red line. I believe it also will downshift for you. I only drove the automatic once so I am not sure on that aspect.
