intake or not ?

i know there are alot of choices of intake systems out there
i am considering the trd intake from the factory
any one know if the noise overrides the exhaust noise because my borla exhaust sounds really nice
and how loud is the intake. if that question can be explained

thanks

ur going to really like the way the intake would sound it's a deep growl but gets deeper the higher you go on the rpm and it can cancel your exhaust sound if you're revving past 4k

Re: intake or not ?

I just bought a 2005 Scion xB with about 53k on the odometer. I gave the car a tune-up - not that it needed it or anything... - I Changed the oil to Mobil1, Drained the transmission and filled it with Royal Purple, replaced the spark-plugs to NGK Double-platinum and swapped out the stock air-filter for another of the same model.
Anyhow, the car still feels a little anemic in the way of acceleration. I was trying to figure out whether an SRI would knock the air/fuel ration too much out of whack. Also, how badly would an SRI affect the mpg? Any input would be greatly appreciated by this Toyota/Scion nOOb... Also, would a plain-jane K&N airfilter make any appreciable difference?

The 05 is a gen 1 and this post is in the gen 2 (2008 and newer) section of the forum, so a better answer would be in the performance section of the Gen 1 area.

Anyways, the Gen 1 has a 1.5L engine and is a bit low on power. The Gen 2 has the "classic" Toyota 2.4L and a good bit more power than the gen 1. The engines and the related drivetrain system are completely different animals. The xB2 is closely related to that of the tC, however.

Re: intake or not ?

I'm leaning more towards AEM, though the Fujita intake is more, well, LEGAL.
