| Re: Best Intake? i definetly understand where you are coming from with wanting to keep the warranty. but this is how i see it, if something happens to the car i will re-install the stock intake because i can not see myself paying the same price for a TRD intake plus you have to have them install it to keep the warranty. so it will end up being 500 bucks for a intake that doesnt perform or sound that great. this is only my opinion though. |

Thats not even the real engineering in the SECRET WEAPON INTAKE.. It has a dual tube design to allow more air flow into the manifold...
First Larger diameter tube flows at rate ( for example ) 1 to 1. The secondary tube inside of the larger diameter tube flows at 2 to 1 because simply because of tubing diameter... Small pipe air moves faster through it.. Mass x Velocity x Volume = More air..
Proven many times that WR Secret Weapon Intake Beats any intake out in the market Period.. |

The drop-in K&N lost hp. I don't believe that it really lost hp (unrelated dyno run discrepency) but I do believe that it didn't add any. IMO the intake restriction on the XB2 is the airbox, not the paper filter. If you want to actually benefit from a drop-in filter, I highly suggest that you remove the charcoal filter and the long silencer hose or re-route the silencer hose behind the grill for CAI. I did something similar on a Dodge Dakota and it seemed to work very well. At speed the air rushing into the intake hose doesn't create any significant pressure but it does help a bit and it's all cold air. Quote:

| Re: Best Intake? Save money! Install it yourself carefully! I did the TRD for a number of the reasons I just read here. It's new but my mileage seems to have gone up in spite of my heavier foot. I find myself shifting my a/t much more than I used to. |
