| Re: Best Intake? so BoxManHERO.. you like the sound of a blowoff valve.. but how would you EVER get that sound from an intake.. the "blow off" occurs after you release your foot off the gas closing the throttle.. so the only way you could get your intake to sound like a blow off valve is to do one of 3 things.. put a microphone right next to your intake and stick a speaker in your engine bay to produce a loud similar sound.. 2 ...alter the intake in such a way that air goes OUT of in instead of in..thus creating an "outake" =p.. or 3.. just get a turbo..
cause there is no intake that i've heard of that sounds like a bov.. they all sound similar to scuba divers to me anyone can prove me wrong then i take back what i say but for now.. im sorry.. i dont think an intake could ever imitate the sound of a blowoff valve

stop replying obviously your a little slow, you should buy the rs2 so you can ride on the short bus where you belong all day, every day. |
DUDE, You need to chill! The original post was about "Best Intakes", you piped up and brought up B.O.V, you're way out in left field, if you can't contribute to the posted question than don't say anthing at all. Now, can we get back on the posted TOPIC! |

Back on topic.
Fujita CAI
Pros: Price
Comes in a black finish (I don't like shiny things)
Cone filter
Sounds great
Cons: Not CARB legal.
Maybe warranty problems
TRD: Pros
Makes use of the bumper grill
CARB Legal
No warranty problems
Water bypass so you don't suck up water
Cons:
Price
Boxed in filter |

| Re: Best Intake? Thank you all for your input, being that this is my first new car (and not having great warranty), I feel as though the warranty piece of information would sway me to go the way of the TRD- licensed CAI.
Thanks for all the pros/cons. Very helpful info! |

| Re: Best Intake? Remember just because you have aftermarket parts on your car doesn't mean they can deny a warranty claim. They have to prove that it caused the problem. Say you have 20" rims at twice the weight of your stock rims and you break an CV axel that would be easy for them to deny. But if you have aftermarket rims at the same weight as stock then they couldn't deny the claim. |

| Re: Best Intake? i think u should get the AEM cold air intake. i absolutely LOVE IT! i purrs so nicely and felt a real noticeable power gain! the gas isnt too bad im still getting 28.3mpg but that all depends on the way u drive. if u go to the right place u could find it for $260, mayb even cheaper. theres cheaper systems out there but i think it was worth the money |
