1. All the CELE is doing is placing the 02 sensor farther away from the exhaust stream making it believe the flow is reduced (like you would normally have). But if your 02 sensor takes a dump, you will throw a code (like normal)

2. Looks like the one from the TC don't it? It's not, it lines up diffrently than the TC header as No Limitz can attest to. But the Xb one is bolt on. But while you've got the other one off you may as well pull the S pipe too to make your life easy in installing the CELE

Re: 2nd Gen Strup Header

I have tryed the anti fouler one in my tC and it didnt work with a crap. It was very hit or miss if they would work. I just started using the Right CEL peice and have not a single customer say they do not work. Plus much easier to install as now you dont have a peice that sticks out of the S pipe 3 plus inches.
I have good and bad things about header wrap. One it keeps the engine cooler. but two that it makes the header alot hotter and has more of a tendency to crack the welds. Now I personally have never wrapped mine, so this is just hear say.

True...I put on my AW header and two anti-foulers and havent had a problem, guess I got lucky...
The CEL eliminator your using is the MMW one??
I wouldnt want to wrap the header, possibly get it ceramic coated as an alternative...

Re: 2nd Gen Strup Header

I am using the Weapon R ones. They used to own MMW. So they might be similar ones for sure if not the same.
Mine changed colors like Marshalls did. So I went and got header paint and painted mine. Looks alot better now. But I want to ceramic coat mine black.

Re: 2nd Gen Strup Header

I installed the strupp header with the SEL and still have engine light problems. I read on another forum that the SEL adaptor should go on the second OXY sensor and not on the header, Any comments on this? And where is the second OXY sensor located?

Re: 2nd Gen Strup Header

The CEl peice goes on the second o2 sensor. It is on the S pipe that is under the car. It does not work if you put it on the header. If you follow the header down. It bolts up to the S pipe. You will see the second o2 sensor on that pipe. Take out the sensor, install the CEL peice and then put back on the o2 sensor and you will be set. Make sure and disconnect your battery to reset the ECU.

Re: 2nd Gen Strup Header

Which CEL eliminator are you using? Yea it goes on the o2 sensor, the sensor on the header is the A/F sensor. The o2 (secondary sensor) should be on the s-pipe, the next pipe connecting to the header...

edit: nolimitz beat me to it, lol

Re: 2nd Gen Strup Header

I am using the straight eliminator. I finally got ahold of strup on the phone and verified what I read. They now have a 90 degree cel eliminator to keep the o2 sensor further away from the flow. They recommend this if the straight one still gives me trouble. Thanks guys for your help, I knew I could get straight answers here.

Re: 2nd Gen Strup Header

I am running a combination of strup header, borla dual exhaust with no mufflers and a k&n short ram air intake. I am experiencing throttle surge (pulsating throttle upon acceleration). The secondary O2 sensor is giving eratic readings and trying to compensate by running the fuel mixture rich, then lean and back to rich. I suppose this is due to the first catalist being removed. Can this be resolved by disconnecting the lead feeding the computer? I need to simulate clean air to the sensor without interupting the heat sensor in the O2 sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Are you using that straight CEL peice still? I never had good luck with those at all. The peices you have should work just fine together for sure. I ran the Strup header and many different intakes and did not have any issues at all with it. But then I was using the L CEL peice. Have you reset your computer yet? Try disconnecting the battery for about 10 minutes and then just try and drive like normal for a little while to let the ECU learn the curves again.
