| Re: hypnotic teal mica -wow I get about three people a week that stop me to compliment my color (the hypnotic teal mica) which always leads to a conversation about the xB. Scion should be paying me at this point, just kidding. I love plugging the xB, its my dream car and I'll drive it forever if I can. |

| Re: Hypnotic Teal Mica - Wow!! Daarken asked the same question - err, set of questions - that I was about to ask. Those are damn sexy grills.
On a side note, I have to say I think the HTM looks super awesome with the a-pillar tape removed.

i was also thinking about doing the window trim tape also-i think the window in the same color will add even more than just doing the a-pillar |

My HTM, Levy: | I will post some pics of the grill in just a bit for everyone to see. How did you remove the tape from the A pillar? Was it difficult? Was there a lot of residue? |

| Re: Hypnotic Teal Mica - Wow!! I have had a lot of inquiries about my grill and to completely honest with everyone I picked it up at the dealeship this way. I loved the color and I thought the grill looked cutsom.
It had 21 miles on it after my test drive and I never though to ask about the grill. Now I have had it for a month. I have looked everywhere to try an figure it out how it go on there and why. It must have come built that way from the factory in Japan. I will have to do some more research and I'll let everyone know just as soon as I do.
Here are the pics as promised. |

Was there a lot of residue? | Super easy. Since it's already hot here in Texas (I'm assuming its also hot in AZ) you won't need anything but the sun and your fingernails (or a scraper if your fingernails are super-short).
There's a thread on here somewhere, but basically, leave your car in the sun for a couple hours, open the two front doors and start peeling the tape at the top of the A-pillar. Then to make pulling it all off easier I loosened the sides of the tape all the way down it, then just pulled it off. Left absolutely no residue, but I suggest washing and waxing after just to protect it.
It's super easy, took me like ten minutes to do both. ^__^
Regarding your grilles:
and wow, it came from the lot like that? That's awesome, maybe you could contact the dealership and ask? I'd buy those grilles in a heartbeat! |

Thanks for the DIY on the A Pillars, I think it is going to look a heck of a lot better as the HTM. I will find out about the grille for you though, no problem.
Kyouya,
Would you be able to post a couple pics of your A pillars without the black sticker. Maybe one from the side and one from the front. Thanks!!

| Grille Update !! Okay everybody it took me four phone calls but I have finally discovered what the grilles are that are on my xB. They are aftermarket of course and they are from Carriage Works. The top portion is a Billet Grille with a Bumper Insert as well as side scoops. The grille, bumper insert and the scoops are three seperate parts.
My particular parts came from Quality Bumper in Tucson, AZ. ( www.qualitybumper.com) I was quoted a total price of $430.08 tax included. Robert at Quality Bumper said they do ship.
You can also get the parts directly from Carriage Works at www.cwgrilles.com
I really love the grilles and reccomend them highly!! They really seem to clean up the front of the xB! |
