| 08 vs 09? Hi! Can anyone tell me what differences there are between the 2008 and the 2009? My torched penny was just totalled....and I will be replacing it on Saturday, possibly with the Gold rush, but I'm a bit hesitant when there are 09s available. Thanks! |

| Re: 08 vs 09? get 09. never buy the 1st run of a new model. that is the test year. the last model is the best model, they fixed all problems with it. i bought the 2006.5 and its the best of the 1st gen. and i will buy the last of the 2nd gen after i pay off this car.
hope that helps. |

hope that helps. | I'd normally go by this reasoning, but I had had a first gen before this, and none of the changes made seem to me like something they could really screw up much. If there were problems...my warranty would cover it, right?
I had a RS, and I really want to replace it with a RS...and I can't wait around for them in 09..I have to buy my car on Saturday. I'll keep what you said in mind though, thanks! |

| Re: 08 vs 09? Not really first run, the motor is from earlier models tC, Camry, etc. I never had problems with my 05 so I had no concerns with buying my 08, you'll be fine with either the 08 or the 09. |

| Re: 08 vs 09? i just bought an 09. i drove 100 miles to get it as the local dealers only had 08.there are no changes except resale wise you have a 1 yr newer car which is normaly good for around 1000 -1500 on the back end when you go to sell. |

| Re: 08 vs 09? The 09 comes in Stingray, but not Nautical Blue.
The other 5 colours are the same.
Also, my 09 (picked up THIS week) has a driver side armrest in the middle of the car, which I've been told wasn't on the 08. I hadn't paid attention to that part on the 08s, so that statement might be wrong.
I'm not aware of any remarkable differences or different features. |

Again, It wasn't something I had looked at very hard or important to me . . .
So, besides a color change and the number, there are no substantial changes. |

| Re: 08 vs 09? yep no changes, oh.. and when the dealer tells you the story about how the key and how it has a chip in it, just laff at him.
you obviously went to a a lower grade scion dealership (usually one that just carries the line, but doesnt care about it), or you just had a stupid salesman. |
